Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works OK, but... The price was right, even though I needed a chrome finish, and only the dark bronze was available. Also, the fan speeds are now reversed in order of operation; I may be able to change that, although I've not yet attempted. The wiring is hit-or-miss, as I had to re-wire the capacitors a couple times in order to achieve proper on/off operation. All in all, however, I got pretty much the desired result: I can now operate the fan on all three speeds, and turn it off. The unsightly dark switch housing on a white fan will be overlooked, in time. However, if I can ever find the CORRECT switch, someday, this one will go in the "spare parts" box! May 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Seems equivalent to a Zing Ear ZE-238S switch in my unknown-manufacturer's 3-speed ceiling fan. (Off, high, med, low speeds. No light. Markings L-1-2-3 counterclockwise on body, black wire at 3) Had to research by myself to figure out this was the equivalent model. Would be nice if Home Depot made it easier to cross-reference parts. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My previous complaint may not be fault of this switch So I called hunter customer service and it turns out that perhaps the reason this thing is not working because the switch that Hunter uses is actually proprietary, so the only way to get a replacement switch is through Hunter. However, I wouldn't give this switch a great rating because after only several months of use I broke the chain while pulling on it. February 25, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not for 3 Speed Hunter Fans Use Westinghouse Switch 77021 for Hunter 3 speed fans. May 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't Work with Hunter I've correctly matched the old switch with this new one and only have 2 speeds and no off. L, 1, 2, & 3...not rocket science. Don't feel like playing with it to find out what other combination might work. Had this happen before and had to use a competitor hardware store for one that matched my original. Sorry Westinghouse. This switch is not a match for Hunter. August 29, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful product The directions are vague and do not explain how to wire product. The inputs also do not hold wires, or will not release them. Went through 2 of these that do not work. Will have to tape wires into place. Terrible. August 31, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to insert existing wires into the switch; instructions are vague The instructions are very vague about how to actually connect the existing wires to this switch. After a couple of hours of trying I had to call an electrician. The trick is to force the wires into the slots on the sides with a small screwdriver (the paper clip the instructions suggested did not work for me). The little holes on the top of the unit are for releasing the wires.... I had thought that was where you inserted the paper clip when inserting the wires, so I was actually loosening the connections. This product could be designed so much better.! Why? Why should it be so hard? Even the electrician said its tricky to install. There are a bunch of YouTube videos and instruction on the internet but none of them cover this aspect. January 3, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Use of this Switch on Hunter 3 speed Fans According to the 77021 pictures the "...Westinghouse Switch 77021 for Hunter 3 speed fans" will not work. The 77021 is an L,1,2,3 CC switch and Hunter 3 speed fans use an L,3,1,2 CC switch with the black wire connected to the "L" position. As to the quality of the switch, I have no opinion.
