Answer:
It is NOT a 3-way adapter, so technically the answer is "No". However, it will work as a standard lamp, that is, only one light setting. You will have 2 "off" positions and 2 "on" positions.

Answer:
Since the light fixture is considered an H.I.D. (High Intensity Discharge), the bulbs will only accept what goes in it originally. That means, your fixture will only work with the same wattage and shape mercury vapor light bulb. Anything else won't work in the fixture, due to the ballast inside the housing. The other option to upgrade your fixture would be to change the fixture to a fluorescent or LED Read More

Oven light bulb

The oven light bulb twisted out of its base. Then when I used needle nose pliers to get the base out the socket came with it all bent up. Is there a replacement for the socket? The socket threads into the porcelain fixture. The side and bottom contacts are still in place inside the fixture

Answer:
If the threaded insert came out of the porcelain socket, the entire socket assembly (porcelain, threaded insert and all associated parts) needs to be replaced. This typically requires an electrician.

I tried 3 different LED bulbs in the adapter and none of them would work. They all worked in "regular" sized lamps and using the goliath 100/200/300 bulb worked in the larger socket so both the lamp and the bulbs should all be ok. Going to try again w/ a non-LED bulb to see if it works, but even if it does, the reason I bought was to use a lower power bulb in this application.

I wanted to convert a very expensive dark to daylight 300 Watt Sodium light on my barn face to a far less costly to operate 300 Watt LED fixture. The only problem was that the Sodium bulb was mogal and the LED had a standard base. I went to Home Depot (on line) and found the cure for my problem. It was a simple installation that worked perfectly! Thanks Home Depot for solving my problem! JayDee

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome find While garage saleing my wife and I found this beautiful floor lamp. The main light socket is a mogul base. I had never heard of it. After researching it, I found that mogul based light bulbs are quite expensive. This is a great inexpensive buy to help out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New life to an old lamp My grandmother recently brought down an old floor lamp from her attic. The main source of light was from a massive Mogul-type light bulb. These are much harder to find than one would imagine, though Home Depot does carry them. I opted instead to purchase this adapter base, which allowed her to use a regular light bulb in its place. She was very pleased that her old lamp now had new purpose, and that she would be able to purchase regular bulbs for it, instead of the harder-to-find Mogul bulbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mogul The product was exactly as described the web, the Mogul is an adapter for an LED bulb, and it fit and functioned just fine.
