The Quality team at Westinghouse Lighting has done some testing at our office with this fan, and found that the included remote control works well with the Westinghouse LEDs we tested it with. The only issue we found with using LEDs in this fan was the limited space in the light kit, which will not allow some types of LED to be installed. We were able to install a G16-1/2 size 7W LED (Westinghouse #03128), a B11 size 5W LED (Westinghouse #03141) and a B10 size 3W LED (Westinghouse #33045) and found that each of these LEDs dimmed smoothly through the entire range with no humming or flickering. Because of the small size of the light kit, the LEDs are close to the glass dome, and can produce patterns of brighter and darker areas depending on how the LED distributes light, but I personally did not find this to be a problem when I did the testing. My existing ceiling fan runs off 2 switches, 1 for the light/the other for the fan. Since this has a remote, does it have to be hardwired differently

Answer:
Hello, the wiring instructions for this fan are included in the directions. The remote control is designed to be powered from a single switch, so this would be installed differently from a fan using two separate switches. To ensure a safe installation, we recommend consulting a qualified electrician.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mostly Satisfied Fans are great looking with a modern design. They are easy to install and very quiet during operation. I purchased six and they have been in use for 2-1/2 years. Have received positive comments from friends when they see the fans. The brushed nickel with mahogany blade design blends nicely with our interior room décor. The only reason I rated it four-star is that one fan has failed after 2-1/2 years of operation. Not sure whether the problem is the motor or the remote receiver. I purchased a new fan to replace it. June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Noise Fix Be aware this fan has an annoying noise. It comes from the top metal egg cover plate rattling against the main motor housing below that it simply sits on. (Especially at higher speeds). To fix, (although we shouldn't have to) Take the foam self adhesive weights, remove the foam adhesive, and stick it between the plate and the motor housing. That creates a sound isolation gap between the two. Sound is gone. Also, bear in mind this fan cannot be wired to a 2 switch house wire unless you keep it on super fast. The factory speed setting is super fast and there are no pull chains to adjust so you are left with using the included remote box to reduce the speed. Looks awesome though! May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Fan!!! I have been enjoying my new fan for about one month. It moves a lot of air, and looks great at the same time! The light has a dimmer, which is a unique feature. Don't hesitate to purchase it! I highly recommend this well priced, and functional ceiling fan. May 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little noisy, but works well The fan is a little noisy. It was installed in my kitchen, so between the radio, my off key singing and the other kitchen sounds, it's not too bad. Easy to install, remote is great, light is bright. August 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 100% Satisfied Beautiful fan! We are in the process of finishing our tiny house (640 sq. ft.) and this fan was a perfect addition to the family. Beautiful lines and whisper quiet operation. With a small space everything you add has to be something you love and the Solana 48” two blade fan is that. I literally had it installed and in operation in ten minutes. The directions were easy to follow and everything went together flawlessly. April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the fan The fan looks very modern, great for a mid-century design. The dome on top is a brushed nickel. The 2 blades are a choclate brown. It's quiet and gives a decent amount of breeze. We have one in ea bedroom and one in the living room. The light is adequate as well. 2 small bulbs, but it lights the bedroom well as an overhead light. December 4, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Two speed fan This fan looks very nice once mounted on the ceiling. Once I used it it was apparent that "slow" and "medium" were the same speed. No difference on the blade speed when switching between the speeds. It is a little noisy on the "high" speed setting and the air movement in a small room was decent. Overall I would not purchase this product again but instead opt for a Hunter or other name brand. December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome addition to our family room We bought this as a replacement for an older 4-blade fan and have not looked back. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a more stylish fan that pushes an amazing amount of air. Our family room is ~375 sq. ft and this fan is more than adequate. A bonus is the dimmable light!
