Answer:
Doesn't look like it can be installed without the light kit - there is no endcap and the lights are installed when you buy it.

Answer:
I installed mine as a flushmount and it didn't move much air at all. With the downrod installed, the fan works as it should.

Answer:
This fan can be installed with or without the 4" down rod (ceiling flush mounted). When using the down rod, you will need to use the 4" down rod or a longer down rod but it cannot be installed with a down rod shorter than 4".

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad, but some issues. It's a cool looking, contemporary fan. It looks very nice installed. I don't believe the install was too big of an issue as long as your ceiling can support it. The room isn't very big and it's a perfect fit. There are two problems with it: 1) When the fan is going at it's highest speed, the thing wobbles. Kinda bounces back and forth. Not a ton, but enough that it makes me uncomfortable and I never run it on high speed. The two lower speeds are fine, no wobble. 2) I think bulbs were included with the fan? They all burned out within a month. I replaced them with appropriate GE bulbs as specified by the manufacturer. They run CRAZY hot. Like you could cook an egg on them hot! If you reach up to adjust the way one of the lights is pointing, you will burn your hand. Also, there was a mysterious smell of heated plastic after they'd been on for a few hours about a week ago. I never figured out why. There was some brownish burned-on stuff on the surface of one of the bulbs, so maybe some dust floated onto it and got hot enough to burn a little. If you do get this fan, get LED bulbs ASAP. I got some from Amazon and they barely put off any heat at all. I could touch the light cones freely, they were barely warm. Also, the LEDs I found had a wider light angle, so they were less spotlight-like and illuminated the room more. They also happen to be longer than the regular bulbs, but they wound up being just even with the light cone, so they don't stick out past the ring and look fine. Better than fine actually, they're 50W equivalents but look brighter because of the wider angle. March 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Fan/Light Assembly - Received Many Compliments So, after reading all of the reviews for this fan, I suspect that many, if not all, of these reviewers of this fan/light assembly who rated it less than excellent made one or more mistakes in the installation. #1 - do NOT install the flush-mount option of this fan - there isn't enough space between the top of the blades and the ceiling for air to get in and pushed down through the blades to create a downdraft - DO use the 4" downrod - this allows air to get in between the ceiling and the top of the blades to create the airflow you need - flush mount will ONLY work if you mount the fan to an open beam! #2 - Make SURE the 4" downrod is in the locked position when you install it - rotate the downrod until it pops down as the key and slot match up - if you don't do this, the fan will wobble like crazy. #3 - each of the lamp housings have an end cap that CAN be rotated clockwise to eliminate any noise they make when the fan is in operation. #4 - DO wire the fan for wall-mounted dimmer and fan motor control if you can - this is SO much nicer than yanking on pull chains - you will need two dedicated power feeds to the box where the fan is mounted. If you do all of these things, you will probably give this fan light assembly a 5-Star rating across the board like I did because you will love its looks and function! And receive more than a few compliments along the way. :) March 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by one of the best, but little.... one of the moden design, very first switched on, little noise coming from one of the light due to the whole unit is vibrats and light unit is noway to tight the screw. October 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleased, but there was a wiring issue. Liked the product, looks good, easy set up, works well, nice adjustable lighting. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is after I installed it a week later one of the lights started going out. Turns out it wasn't the light bulb but the wiring is bad. So at some point I will have to take it down and see if I can fix the wiring for that light. Bummer. September 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice ceiling fan with very good lighting easy to install, more pieces than usual given the lighting style but is very functional, cools a small room very well & convenience of directing the light is a definite advantage. September 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome Very modern, extremely easy to assemble, very sleek look September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fans We love them, brought 2 for kitchen. Took sometime to get use to directing the lights just right. Lights do get very hot. August 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by great design, but no airflow and a lot of heat very good looking fan, unfortunately, does not produce any air flow at all. The halogen bulbs are way too bright and generate a lot of heat. Returning with great regret :( September 30, 2014
