Maybe I should have paid more attention to the specs rather than reviews. This frig has no kick plate, no meat keeper, no dual controls and compressor kicks on every time I open the frig door.
Pros: It has door storage and has a shelf in the freezer. The coils are on the back for easy cleaning. It has four "plastic wheels" for easy moving. Outside would be attractive except for the absence of the kick plate. I had to get rid of my 18.1, 25-yr. old Whirlpool. I knew I'd never get that quality again; however, for the price, I did expect more than I got. Don't understand the excellent reviews.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by wrn1 decent refrig for the price
Ergonomically the design is excellent
- two crisper drawers with transparent top
- sturdy wire shelves including a freezer shelf
- nice design of in-door storage
- real door handles not slots cut in side of door
The cooling coils are on the back of the unit which make it easy to clean the dust off (compared to bottom-coil units).
The compressor (Panasonic) and coolant noise is loud for my taste. I suspect it is not so much the volume (66 dB C at back of unit) but the more the type of hissing/buzzing that is annoying to me.

This is a good working refridgerator. It however may not be suitable in a small apartment, if you have good hearing. The motor makes a loud hum when it is running.
I am using it as a second refridgerator and is in the garage so I do not hear it.

A basic fridge/freezer combo for a reasonable price. Love having the extra space for the holiday overflow of food and drinks. A little noisy if it was indoors on a hard floor (vibration) but is great for the garage. All features working as described.
