18 in. Front Control Dishwasher in Black with Stainless Steel Tub is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well so far I bought this dishwasher because I needed a shallow one to fit in my kitchen. It really is only 22 inches from the very back to the very front. Most similar dishwashers were at least half an inch deeper. Other dishwashers in this price range seem to be nearly identical inside and are likely all made in the same factory. I'm not sure why this one is shallower, maybe the controls on others stick out more. The dishwasher seems to work fine, my dishes come out clean. I've only been running the dishwasher for a few months so I can't speak to how long it will last but nothing about it makes me think it shouldn't last as long as other dishwashers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Summary of the good, the bad, and the ugly for this 18" Whirlpool dishwasher The good: We liked that this model had nice features that were easily accessible from a touchpad and that it was Energy Star rated. So far the unit has done a great job of cleaning our dishes. The bad: Though this unit does have insulation to reduce the sound when it is in operation, it is definitely not quiet, and we only operate it when we're not planning to be in the same room for an extended period of time. I personally feel that the price for all apartment-sized dishwashers is too high, and this washer was no exception. On the plus side, it was hundreds less than the "top" 18-inch models. I rated the value as fair. The ugly: Two things I was disappointed by: 1) The front of the dishwasher has a big, gaudy, "Whirlpool" brand mark that doesn't appear in the picture. It consists of raised, silver, script lettering that's approximately 3" high and 7" wide. 2) The kick plate below the door comes in two pieces and is a serious pain to take on/off. This does allow the height of the dishwasher to be customized without leaving a gap, but will be impractical to remove to clean the floor at/under the base.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from small space, perfect dishwasher solution I have a smaller kitchen in my apartment and this Whirlpool model has worked out perfectly so far. Relatively quiet, you can hear the dishwasher running but it's not annoyingly loud. It has the expected options, the time-delay feature is perfect for setting for after you leave or overnight. Just enough room with or without the silverware holder, the cleaning is perfect everything I've so far. Yes, the drying agent light for refilling could use a redesign, it's not impossible to see but is annoyingly hard at times. Overall, it's worth purchasing. Don't waste for money for the same options/performance, don't spend less just to save a buck, buy this model and you'll be happy IMO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased! I have very limited space and was forced to purchase and 18 inch dishwasher. I had many reservations, and was certain I would still be doing lots of dishes by hand given the size. I was extremely surprised by how much can be loaded into this little baby. The interior layout is well thought out and I have no trouble getting everything in. The first time I used it, I purposely used extra dishes to see how this would go. I actually had extra space and could have put quite a bit more in. Before I bought this dishwasher, I researched for 5 months. What I found is that there are the cheaper models, but they often leak and have plastic bottoms. I've had quite a few Whirlpool products over time and have had only good fortune with their products. By the way, the delivery service was extremely good. I do not find the dishwasher noisy. It's not silent, but I was in the room next to the kitchen and could easily watch TV, talk on the phone, etc. without the noise interfering. It's actually much quieter that my previous dishwasher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I cannot believe how well this thing works! I have a very small studio in Chicago with a super tiny kitchen however for resale value, I wanted to add a dishwasher because it's so rare to find. I was extremely skeptical buying an 18", I felt it was a huge risk but I really wanted a dishwasher in the space. I'm not sure if it's just a fluke, but this thing is great. It's washed better than any 30" dishwasher I've ever owned. I can attest to the noise level since I slept about 10 feet from it and it's really not bad at all. Most importantly, my dishes were always clean the first time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cleans quite well and fit where most others couldn't My house is from 1926 and has 23" deep counters and 22" deep space from the back of the cabinet inside to the front of the the cab outside. I searched and searched and finally decided on this model as a balance between price, ratings and the ability to fit into my space. I've installed three DWs in my day now and this one went quite smoothly. Using it is a pure joy! What was once a daily chore that took time and cluttered our counters until it was done now is so much easier. I didn't have high expectations for the level of noise it put out but have found the noise to be non-obtrusive. It has cleaned just fine on normal setting with us giving our dishes a quick rinse before putting them in. I'm still not quite sure how to load the rinse aid. Does it get loaded every time or only when the resivoir gets depleted? There is a window you're supposed to look through to tell when you have filled the res enough but I could see no difference even the first time I filled it. Perhaps that's related to my next comment which is that the heated dry, which we always use gets the dished on their way to being but does not thoroughly dry them. All in all it's cute, quiet, stainless inside (which I like) and great at cleaning my dishes so I'm very happy with my purchase!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst experience I have had in a long time... Purchased the product online, was delivered and installed. Worked less than a week and will now not run at all. Because I did not buy the extended warranty Home Depot tells me they can do nothing for me and I must deal with Whirlpool. Whirlpool has taken three weeks to tell me that they cannot send a out a service rep because we live in the mountain of Colorado and therefore "there are not authorized service technicians". Their solution they provided is call a local appliance repair company, have them fix it (which I will need to pay for) and then fax the invoice to Whirlpool who will reimburse me "up to $150". The worst buying and customer service experience i have had in a very long time. I will certainly not use either Home Depot or Whirlpool EVER again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great small size dishwasher This dishwasher is a great value at its price, many other models were more expensive for not much more in features. The dishwasher is solidly made and cleans dishes really well! It's not super quiet that's true but you can watch TV or have a conversation with no problem. There is also a delayed start if u want to run it while you're asleep or out of the house, I have not used this yet as the sound does not bother me. I have not had the dishwasher very long but so far it is one of the best purchases I've made in a long, long time.
