just had it installed today, i started cooking and turned on the vent, it was useless. This is a 400 cfm and almost all the steam headed up towards my celing. The vent screen is in the middle of the unit. burners on the stove are on the sides of the stove not in the middle, the steam would go up and hit the metal and go sidewards up towards my ceilings. My son noticed it without me saying a thing, my whole house smelled like cooking odors and that was just one time cooking. I had to slide my pot towards the middle half way off the burner in order for it to suck the steam up! what a waste! Also, other reviewers were right about the light, it sits back way too far.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by ASJr Nice, But Installers Beware!
It's a great looking unit, which is a definite upgrade from the WMH53520AS it replaces. The price is very competitive with other brands, and all the bells and whistles you could want are there. I've only had it for a week so I can't comment on it's durability, but it's predecessor received high marks in this area.
So why 3 stars? There is a hinge cover molded into the microwave's door, that protrudes above the top line of the microwave. If you have frameless kitchen cabinets, there is an excellent chance that the bottom of your cabinet door will either hit, or scrape against the microwave's hinge cover when you swing your cabinet door open.
I discovered this problem after an otherwise, easy installation process.
So I had to take the thing down, and put a few washers between my kitchen cabinet and the top of the microwave, to allow clearance for the door to open. Of course, this also meant lowering the rear mounting bracket by the same measurement as the thickness of the washers to keep the unit level.
A HUGE waste of my time and extremely annoying.
Had Whirlpool made buyers/installers aware of this design flaw, and provided spacers for this type of installation, I would rate this unit with 4 stars.
In the mean time, if installing this unit under frameless cabinets, I suggest lowering the mounting bracket 3/16" below what the instructions say, and using spacers of the same thickness as that measurement on the two mounting screws between your cabinet and the oven.
I'm not recommending this product as an acknowledgment that while it may otherwise be a great unit, someone in the design department at Whirlpool seriously dropped the ball.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Surbhi Not so good experience
I bought this microwave from home depot online. When I received it and got it installed the fan made a crazy loud noise on high setting and weird buzzing noise on medium and low setting. When I called Home Depot they asked me to call Whirlpool. Then Whirlpool sent someone for service and repair. A part had to be ordered and replaced on a NEW Microwave to get rid of the buzzing noise and this all took more than a week. I asked whirlpool and Hope Depot to replace microwave with a new one and ho help. I hate to see a part replaced on a brand new microwave. The fan still make loud noise...The buzzing sound is gone. Horrible experience with Home Depot more because of Whirlpool.

Very pleased with the performance. Installation was straight forward thanks to good instructions and templates. Only complaint is the upper door hinge extends slightly above the microwave housing which causes interference with the cabinet door operation.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by redptc Great while it lasted - only two years
We really liked this microwave until the magnetron burned out after just over 2 years of use. Of course it is out of warranty and the cost to repair is about the same as buying a replacement. I would easily give it 5 stars if it had lasted longer. We are crossing our fingers and buying the same model since I know it will fit and the feature set is great. If the new unit only lasts two years we will never buy any more Whirlpool appliances again though.
