Answer:
Shawn, While this microwave can be externally vented it comes set up for internal venting which wouldn't require any connections to an outside exhaust.

How do you get the bulb out?

This is in no way a standard bulb (see picture) and I can't get it out. It does not turn, twist or pull...or at least I can't do it and I'm afraid of breaking the bulb. I'm kind of disappointed it burnt out after only 2 months, but it is what it is. If I can't change it out, though, it will be irksome.

Just so I don't appear totally braindead, somewhere in the manufacturing process, a big ol' glob of glue had effectively welded the bulb in place so I thought I was missing something. Once I pried the glue out, the bulb came out fine.

FTR, the bulb has an *intermediate* size base which is halfway between a regular and candelabra base, so that's what you have to look for. I actually wound up getting mine in Walgreens and it's called an appliance bulb for things like microwaves. So, while not being common, it's not terribly hard to find. Read Less

Answer:
Liz, Please click on the "Use and Care Manual" link on this product page for detailed information.
The charcoal filter is behind the vent grille at the top front of the microwave oven.
A filter status indicator appears in the display when it is time to replace the charcoal filter.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 117 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fan is noisy Had this microwave installed on Monday. Looks beautiful BUT the fan is super loud. The fan sounds the same on ALL levels even low. Have to turn the tv up super loud to hear over the fan noise. Whirlpool sent out a tech yesterday. He said that's how this model is!. Are you kidding me? I phoned home depot and they said a manager will call me. I'm still waiting and have left 2 more messages. Since the microwaves are inoperable at the store how are you supposed to know how loud the fan is? So frustrated!!! July 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great microwave! Quiet, attractive and works well. We've been very happy with this microwave. Only minor complaints are that the range-top light only lights up the back row of the burners and that the display can only be read when you are looking straight at the microwave. If you are off axis at all, you cannot read the display. This is most annoying when you want to check the time or how much time is cook time is left. However, these minor things do not outweigh the positives. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent microwave This microwave replaces a very old very used microwave. I especially love the sensing feature, it cooks everything perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase, excellent quality & price. Looks great! This microwave is so easy to clean & has an optional rack that can be used with the turntable for cooking more than one item at a time. October 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Died after only 2 years We've only had this microwave for right at 2 years. It started randomly playing the noise for the timer going off when there was nothing in it, or hadn't been in it for quite a bit of time. Make food, take it out when timer goes off or hitting cancel, an hour later, ding. Then we would put something in the microwave, set the timer, and it would tell us to open/close the door. After a couple of open/closes, it would finally work, or we would unplug it to reset it. I started noticing that when the light wouldn't come on inside after opening the door, it wouldn't work at all. I might be in the kitchen an hour or so later and open the door, and the light comes on. There just isn't any rhyme or reason to when it will work or not. We've tried unplugging to reset, no go. I really expect an appliance to last more than 2 years. We're going shopping for a new one today and it most certainly won't be a Whirlpool October 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really like this microwave I like the curved handle and blue LED clock. Very nice for the price! I also purchased the stainless steel range and oven, also Whirlpool. Although I haven't had this product very long, I am not anticipating any issues. Really like Whirlpool and it has performed well for me in the past. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Whirlpool Microwave under the cabinet The is a great product and love all the features that come with the product. Love capacity and big turn table. September 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great when it works...Buyer Beware! We had this microwave for about 6 months when it started asking us to "Open/Close Door". We opened and closed the door, only to continue getting the same message. None of the other options worked. The microwave basically became a very expensive clock for the kitchen. So glad we purchased a protection plan for this product. Had to call and have it fix for this issue, 3 times. The last time they came to fix the problem, we were told this is a known problem and they had a fix for it. But we had to wait 4 weeks to get the "fix." Unfortunatley the fix only worked for a week. I highly recommend you look at a different microwave. The protection plan did relunctantly refund the purchase price for this item, but not before spending 90 + minutes on the phone with both Home Depot and the protection plan rep. September 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by new microwave after 25 years, the Old over the range MW has gone!. The new is much quieter, seems to heat more evenly. September 27, 2016
