Do I have to buy the stacking kit if I want to stack the dryer on top of the washer, or is it enough with the anti-vibration pad?
Asked by: Em
You need the stacking kit. The washer spins at a max of 1400 rpms. If for some reason the washer's load gets unbalanced during a cycle without having the dryer mechanically anchored to the washer, you're going to have real trouble.

1. How well does this washer handle small loads? I have a front load Samsung right now that takes forever to wash a small load because the programming expects heavier items. It keeps spinning until the program times out and then it finishes. 2. Does cold water setting really use just cold water. Again, back to may Samsung, I select cold wash but the machine adds hot water to warm it up. Not good for delicate fabrics Can be damaged by hotter water.

Thank you. What about the cold water wash? Is it really cold water only?

i see you need to use cold water. does that mean everything is washed in cold water? It says there is 6 temp.
Asked by: sue
Hi sue, no, there are warm water cycles that will bring the water up to temperature. We hope this helps!

Can i hook up the hot water connection instead of cold

Or will it mess up the thermostat?
Asked by: Rose
No, you need the cold, sorry. The internal thermostat will not be the biggest of your worries if you do it. The thing is designed to handle cold clean water out of your water supply piping. The hot water heater and piping in your home always contains more sediment than the cold water piping.

This washer is what i needed. It washes the clothes at normal like 1 hour 35 min. and they are very clean. It is compact and little over 2 cubic feet which allows you to wash 3 pair of jeans and probaly 6 tshirt. it also has a compact dryer but little over 4 cubic feet. i love both of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very large interior for a compact size washer Great washer. Larger interior than expected. Able to wash entire queen size sheets in one load. Clothes come out very clean. And it fits nicely in our closet space. Uses very little water and has great energy savings. It only uses cold water as it has its own internal heating element inside machine. Therefore, a cap is needed for the hot water valve when installing washer. Love all of the options/features, especially the detergent dosing aid. I've only been using the washer for 3 weeks, so cannot comment on its longevity. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it sounds like a jet engine when in the final spin cycle & the entire house vibrates when in the spin cycle. Luckily, the spin cycle doesn't last very long, and the clothes are well wrung out, so that the drying time in dryer is much shorter, saving on energy that way, also. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but well worth it My wife and I run a small property business in western Pennsylvania. We buy, renovate, rent, and sell single and multi-family homes. I am the PA-registered contractor of the outfit and head up our small work screw. We have quite a bit of experience in spec rehab, upscale, and budget rental properties. The pictures show this very nice washing machine in the dark, rather dingy unfinished basement of a 3500 square-foot home built circa 1920-1930 as a large home for a local heiress, and then renovated in 1945 into a top-and-bottom duplex with large, two-bedrooms apartments. It was my hope to put this upstairs in the duplex for a same-floor compact laundry room, but unfortunately, while the rear utility area of the upstairs apartment does have a drain, the drainpipe itself has not aged well. Ergo, the two washing machines and dryers will stay in the expansive basement, and we will not be able to add the premium we wanted to charge to the renovated upstairs apartment’s rent. Which is all too bad, because this washer forms half of exactly the kind of washer/dryer setup a landlord or owner would want for an upscale compact apartment or condominium. One of the most important installation features of this washer is that it only takes a cold-water connection (see Figure 2), not both a cold and hot-water connection. An internal heater actually heats the water to the correct temperature for each of the wash cycles. This allows the washer to heat up the water well past the temperature your hot water heater provides for the “X-hot wash” option. If you’re building a compact laundry room without a laundry sink and just a wall standpipe laundry box (as I had hoped to), this also minimizes the supply piping you’ll have to install. Installation options also include both washer/dryer 12-inch pedestal drawers and a stack kit, if space is really at a premium. Because the matching dryer has a heat pump and does not require a dryer vent, the combo can be shoehorned in practically anywhere, again, that you have a working drain and a cold-water supply. Other than that, I’m not even going to try to go through the washer’s many, many, many cycles and options features. This thing does it all and then some, and its panel is both intuitive and easy-to-understand as long as you go through the user’s manual and then pay attention to the handy icon reference chart stuck to the washer. If you’re picky about how your clothes are cleaned, this’ll do ya, and then some. One thing to note about that is that the washer gives you a general time-to-completion for each cyle+option until it spins the clothes a bit and weighs the load. Only then does it really tell you how long the cycle you’ve chosen will last. There is one point that must be made about this washer and other front-loaders in a review such as this one. Historically in the USA, top loaders have been more common that front-loaders. Leveling a top loader well is not as necessary given the structure of the thing. A front loader absolutely HAS to be leveled properly for it to last, and in this case, that means making sure the leveling legs are properly extended and the jam nuts are engaged. You can’t use short stacks of pennies to roughly level this thing and expect that it will spin at 1400 rpms without coming off such makeshift shims. I cannot recommend this thing enough if you are putting it in a small space and expect a lot of bang for your buck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not reccomend this product I bought a whirlpool washing machine 5 years ago and last year it caught on fire. This year it broke again and repairs will cost $600. Customer service couldn't help. Our washing machine also makes very loud sounds when washing. I have heard from several repairmen that whirlpool designs their products to break down within 5 years. I will NEVER buy a whirlpool product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from water heating feature We are full time RVers, and I was very disappointed when my washing machine died. However, this machine has surpassed the quality of the previous one and out surpassed any expectations I had. The water heating feature is a bonus. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
