This is the loudest refrigerator I have ever had purchased (Unknowingly), so bad I took it back due to driving me nuts. When all three fans and compressor running the product can be heard thru out the house. Replaced with old Samsung that was quite. Advise not to purchase this product.

Customer Reviews

24.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Monochromatic Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4206.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from rust on doors after 10 months rust on 10 month old fridge . my 10 month old stainless steel Whirlpool refridgerator has several rust spots on the front. I have a stainless steel garbage can in the same kitchen that's over 2 years old and it has no rust spots. So clearly this is a quality control issue with Whirlpool. Unfortunately warranty excludes. "12. Discoloration, rust, or oxidation of stainless steel surfaces. " Also when Home Depot installed they gouged up my wood floors (installers used a harness and rocked the old and new fridges on the wood floors to get on and off the harness rather than a dolly), i called 2 times to address and still haven't heard back from their third party group that handles this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After one year you will know the quality I have owned this refrigerator for almost 4 years. My wife and I researched the online reviews and at that time could not find a bad review. Our first year was uneventful. Shortly after the warranty was out the ice maker stopped working. A new ice maker was installed. About 21-22 months of use and there was a puddle of water on our hardwood floor under the refrigerator. Seems as there is a rubber grommet on the condensate drain that stops up and causes the water during defrost cycle to migrate on your floor as the plugged drain will be covered with ice from previous cycles of defrost and then refrigeration. Whirlpool you can build a better product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware. Doors don't seal, raining condensation Within hours of being plugged in we could see there was an issue. The door seals don’t “grab” when you close the door (in other words, they don’t actually seal). The refrigerator began having condensation build up and drip all around the seals the same day it arrived. We ordered this fridge as part of an entire suite of new appliances after repairing our house from a major flood that hit our area. Home Depot installed it in our kitchen, which was newly remodeled with this refrigerator in mind, and is climate controlled at 74 degrees F. The refrigerator is set up but hardly ever opened because we are waiting for countertops to be installed before we start using the kitchen. Despite this, a significant amount of water droplets are running down the frame of the fridge behind the doors and collecting on the lower drawer and freezer drawer, as well as pooling on the ceiling of the interior behind the doors. We aren't trying to be picky about this, we would like the whole ordeal over with and move on with our lives, but the condensation is too significant an issue to ignore. Also, the left door sits noticeably higher than the right door (but neither seals properly) and there is yellow foam overflowing from some of the prominently visible joints that is too hardened to be removable and makes this look like a cheap, hastily thrown together refrigerator. We called Home Depot and they came out and checked that it was level and said the only thing left to try is putting petroleum jelly on the door seals. It didn’t help at all. Now we are waiting to hear back from Whirlpool. If you buy a brand new $$$ item and it is defective right from the start, you should be able to return or exchange it, not be stuck haggling with the manufacturer about warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love our new Fridge It's the best Fridge. I would move....the ice maker, put it in the door, and make one of the inside drawers deeper, the slide in door compartments take a little to get used to....over all I love it. I am very proud of it, and I don't think Ige said that before about any appliance We purchased.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Company Period, Whirlpool not Home Depot I recently (within the last year) outfitted our home with new Whirlpool appliances. The largest and most expensive a $2000 refrigerator, not top of the line but an average model on 1 January 2015. By August the refrigerator was having problems making ice. I called Whirlpool service and arranged for one of their certified techs to come out and take a look at it. The tech arrived form Atlanta, Ga and advised that the ice maker needed to be replaced. For the next two weeks the tech would not return calls or notify us when the repairs would be completed. Finally, two weeks later the icemaker was replaced. The unit worked fine until just before Thanksgiving. On November 24th again the icemaker went out and I called Whirlpool and again Whirlpool sent out another service tech, this time from Alabama. This tech advised that the compressor and that the control board (computer) in the refrigerator needed to be replaced and that it would take a while. Numerous calls to the tech and messages left went ignored until just before Christmas. I called the tech and he finally answered and told me he would be out the next Monday. Monday came and he called complaining of being sick would Wednesday work. I told him fine as long as it was fixed. Wednesday the tech replaced the board and compressor. Not the refrigerator was working and making ice and running quietly. Thursday “Darth Vader” moved into my kitchen and again I called Whirlpool. They sent the same tech out a few days later 19 January 2015. The “Darth Vader” breathing had stopped temporarily and the tech stated he could not do anything until he could hear the noise and I was to record it and call him back. All of this occurred prior to the warranty expiring. I made the recording and called the tech, he told me that I had to go through Whirlpool again. I called Whirlpool and they informed me that the refrigerator was now out of warranty and that the issue was my problem. After approximately an hour of talking to various phone personalities some of which laughed at the problem and treated my wife and I very condescendingly, they agreed to send out a tech on a one time good will service call. Whirlpool only employees two techs in the area so we told them to send the first. The tech arrived on 26 January 2016 and discovered a green substance under the refrigerator (see picture) he also discovered a burned starter relay (see picture) and heard the “Darth Vader” breathing sound. Please note that this breathing sound can be heard from thirty feet away. The tech advised that the unit needed to be replaced and called Whirlpool. Whirlpool responded through the tech that the green substance was a fluid used to check seals, and that the burn marks on the plastic housing of the switch was due to installation with a torch, and that the sound, which can be heard in a thirty-foot radius is normal. The tech then apologized to us and advised us to purchase a SAMSUNG the next time as their customer service and reliability was far superior, imagine that a Whirlpool tech (American Company) endorsing Samsung (Korean Company). Now on January 31, 2016 again the refrigerator is not making ice. First let me say to leave an unknown green fluid on the kitchen floor is not only poor work ethic but total disregard for the homeowner’s property. I know of no plastic component that requires heat from a blow torch for installation and third the sound of labored breathing from thirty feet away is not normal for a refrigerator. Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. They offer poor quality, poor service and poor technical/repair service. We will not purchase another Whirlpool product, most likely we will go with the techs advice and by SAMSUNG after all they are recommended by Whirlpool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Whirpool lost a 32 year long customer over this refrigerator DO NOT PURCHASE THIS REFRIGERATOR! I remodeled an entire kitchen and bought all new Whirpool appliances. The ice maker never worked from the beginning. The repairman installed a new ice maker, but it still never worked properly. The repairman had to come out 2 more times within 45 days because I wanted an answer as to why it did not work properly. When you want regular cubes, it also spits out crushed ice. Sometimes a lot and sometimes a little, it just depends on the day. This may not be a big deal, but if I am paying this much for an appliance, I want it to work correctly! But, I guess I have been asking too much. The supervisor at Whirpool told me there was nothing they could do and that I was basically stuck with it. I begged for them to replace it since it never worked right from the beginning. Their response was "the ice maker in this model just does that". I told them that they need to tell customers this one FLAW on this model. I have only purchased Whirpool for over 30 years, but that ended today! They clearly DO NOT stand by their products. All they had to do was replace it, but they chose to do nothing. It is very sad when all I wanted was for it to work correctly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great refrigerator I looked at refrigerators for months. The only thing this does not have is the flip up, or slide in shelves. my main concern for having that is for 2 liter pop bottles. Well this this is awesome as far as shelf adjustability. Everything fits perfect. And one huge thing no one thinks about with these french door fridges, is that most have that drawer on the inside thats the width of the fridge. Well, you have to open both doors all the way just to open that drawer properly. This fridge has that drawer which, is much much bigger than the ones inside those other fridges, on the outside. So nice to not have to open both doors to open one drawer really quick. I actually put the 2 smaller drawers on one side of the fridge, and that works out perfectly one for cheeses, and the other for deli meats. The big full width outside drawer i have fruits veggies, yogurts, fruit cups. And the freezer holds a ton of stuff. And has a light. I love the look of this fridge. Also it has 2 paddles for ice and water so you dont have to push a button every time you want water or ice. The nightlight is a huge plus. The capacity is perfect for my family. We upgraded from a top freezer that was 18 cu. Ft. The left side door with the smaller bins, i have the butter at the top, and minced garlic, lime juice, pop cans, a box of chicken stock. So you can fit a good amount of stuff or different things i still have room in those bins. The other side fits those really tall big ketchup bottles, a ton of salad dressing bottles. You name it. I wouldnt use it for store milk. Also for anyone worried about the ice maker being inside the fridge, after all my research it is better to have the ice maker in the fridge, than built into the door (the ones in the door melt the ice then freezes it into a . I dont find it takes up any space at all this fridge has a ton of room. The outside is sleek and the blue lights of the ice and water despencer look really nice with it. However i do not have the ice maker hooked up yet as we are waiting for the plumber. So if anything changes i will update my review. I love this fridge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Whirlpool Ice Makers Are Junk I bought in 2014 and have had three ice makers replaced and its still unacceptable. After fifteen hours I wanting some ice in a glass and that's all it had made in that time. One 12 oz. glass. Buyers beware of these units. When I called Whirlpool to see if they are aware of the faulty ice makers a supervisor would npt talk to me and the CSR hung up on me and was be nice about the problem. I will never buy anopther Whirlpool product. and posted a short video on Facebook for all my friend to pass on to there about this product.
