Bought this fridge a few weeks ago. So far I am in love with it.
Everyone says theirs is noisy mine is so quiet I don't even know it is in the room.
Only complaint is the ice maker does not have a chute and the ice goes all over when trying to fill your glass. As far as not having a butter compartment that's what the sliding glass doors in the bottom work great for butter and cheese blocks.

I was very disappointed in the ice maker, as my previous review stated. Now that I have had the refrigerator for a few months, I have adjusted to the amount of ice it makes and learned to work with it. Once the ice cube container filled up (which took a week the first time), the production level and ice cube size increased. I keep water bottles filled with ice cubes in the "pizza holder" in the freezer - it fits seven 24oz Polar brand water bottles perfectly - they are always ready to go.
The other thing I hadn't considered about having the drawer (which I do love) is that it cuts out a substantial amount of door storage. It's true that gallons of milk will fit in the door - you just can't take them out or put them in without tipping them a full 90 degrees. You have to have a lot of faith in the jug caps to do that (snap on caps could cause a milk mess). Another option would be to remove one of the three door shelves to add height. We keep the milk in the main part of the refrigerator, because I didn't want to give up a shelf in the door.
The refrigerator works very well. The freezer keeps an even, consistent temperature. The ice cream is always perfect (not crystallized or goopy) and no ice build up. There are 3 levels of storage in the freezer, which is great, but not much room for tall items - the pizza storage spot is the only tall area. The top 2 drawers hold items no higher than a bag of frozen vegetables. If you put taller things there, the ice builds up - it interferes with the defrost system.
Fingerprints are under control with a once/weekly wipe down with a Pledge stainless steel wipes. I don't have young children at home anymore, so with the two of us this works fine.
So I am happy (now) with this refrigerator. It is big, bright, and easy to organize. If ice is important to you, I would recommend a model with an icemaker in the freezer instead of the door dispenser. The dispenser takes up a lot of refrigerator space and production is an issue. And if you want to keep milk in the door, skip the drawer, or remove a shelf in the door. But the stainless is good quality, and I love the solid stainless handles (Samsung brand uses a lot more plastic). It is reliable and works well - and made in the USA. I hope this helps.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by TC123 First Impression... Very Nice!
Perhaps our review will require an update as time goes on, but for an initial impression (after just one week)... so far, we love this refrigerator!
To those who mentioned issues with noise levels... guessing maybe we got lucky with our particular unit, since we seem to think itâs actually a pretty quiet running appliance (especially when compared to the old Kenmore that this one replaced).
And for those who complained about the water dispenser's spout being located too far towards the front of the unit (which sometimes caused water spillage when trying to fill smaller glasses using the push-in-switch method)... we found you can easily avoid this by just using the auto fill button on the touch panel instead. Just sit any size glass or cup directly under the spout, then press the auto fill button on the touch panel. The exact amount of water you set is automatically dispensed into your glass or cup without spilling a single drop... no more more wet hands â worked perfectly every time we tried it!
And finally, itâs probably always a good idea to actually test the accuracy of just how close in temperature the various compartments are compared to what the control panel says they should be... so we placed a couple thermometers in both the freezer and the refrigerator compartments and have continued to monitor them each and every day... and once again, this Whirlpool has been dead on with matching the default settings every single time we check (37 degrees in the refrigerator compartment and 0 degrees in the freezer section).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by Mamaremodeler Nice and surprisingly larger than expected.
I thought that perhaps I would not have enough room to be able to get rid of the fridge in the garage. I was wrong. There is space and more space. The freezer has three total drawers and a pocket perfect for beer mugs. The drawer in the middle is great for the stuff you need frequent access to. The actual fridge takes some getting used to. You have to really make sure you close the door but if you don't it will let you know. The shelves are great and there is plenty of space in the doors. There is even an additional cavity that fits gogurts and string cheese in perfectly. Read the instructions well! I didn't and could not understand why it was not making ice. Only a few minor complaints, the water dispenser is not situated well for smaller cups and you have to use your finger to push the button to get water or it will spill all over the place. The other dislike is when I am done getting water there is a thud. Crazy I know. I will call to see if this can be adjusted. When the ice maker is re-filling it is audible. By the way, I have all ready had a service call, the rubber thing around the freezer was not on correctly and it began building up frost. They came out and fixed it within 2 days. Service was great.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by David2005 Terrible continous Ice build up in back of refrigerator
Had this refrigerator for only 3 weeks, and already having problems. This refrigerator is a replacement for the previous Whirlpool that lasted for 3 months before whirlpool replaced it for this newer model because of constant ice built up in refrigerator. Within the first week of purchase, already had ice built up in back of this refrigerator. Had a repairman come out to look at the problem, and he installed a part that was supposed to fix the issue. Only 2 days later, noticed ice built up once again. I have spoken to several Whirlpool managers informing them that their products are defective and they need to fix them if they want consumers to buy their products. I am totally shocked that whirlpool has not fixed this ice built up issue with their refrigerators, since I have had 2 exact same issues with 2 different models. I am not a happy customer.
