Oven was repaired on October 31, 2013 by a qualified Whirpool technician - sent by Whirlpool.
The technician replaced the control (circuit board) panel and clock. He said that there were no other parts that could be affecting the oven's performance. The oven continued to power down when preheating after the repairs. I would need to cancel the bake and start again to get the oven to preheat and even after doing that, the temperature would begin to drop 200F or more.
Today it completely died during a 2 hour self clean mode!
I will be asking that the oven be removed and full credit applied back to my HD account. I will be looking for a different brand.

I bought the oven in June 2013 and I have no idea if it is energy efficient. The fan is noisy when oven is cooking. The oven is hugh compared to the oven that it replaced. I have not tried to clean it so do not know how that will be. Ease of use is more complicated than my old one, such as cancel means turn off oven when done? Cooking time is longer than my old oven. Installation was not complicated. I love its looks.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KJSPS Bakes well when it is working
Within the first 24 hours of using this oven, the oven began to power down. This has been a complaint by several other consumers who have purchased this oven.
Electric ovens need to cycle on and off to maintain the preset temperature. Usually the temperature swing is within 20-30F, but not this oven. After the oven reaches temperature, it will drop 200F or more and then go back to preheat mode until it reaches the set temperature. Whatever that is being baked ends up being over cooked - burnt. This doesn't happen every time, but randomly.
The good news is that after contacting Whirlpool, a technician was sent out the very next day and corrections will be made at no cost to me.
The bad news is that a new oven should not have these issues right out of the box.
I do like the interior of this oven. It is much larger than my previous oven. The doors have a large viewing glass and the double lights are a nice touch. The doors also seem to have a good seal.
If it wasn't for the above stated heating issues, I would give 5 stars for this oven. I recommend this oven with caution. I would also suggest getting the extended warranty.

I purchased the 27" to replace an almost 30 year old 24" Maytag double oven. My husband installed the new ovens, cutting the cabinet hole wider and taller to fit the new unit. The manufacturer's measurements were spot on. I love that I can actually see the food through the huge window, rather than continually opening the door to determine progress. My old oven's glass distorted the color so I couldn't tell if something was browning or burning. As for the sound level of the fan, I would say those who are complaining may have bought the ovens with the convection option, thus the loud noise. I didn't get the convection and the fan is just a hum. As others have said, open the door and the oven will cool quicker. I do wish the timer alarm was louder and beeped longer, but that is minor. The controls are extremely easy to figure out. Replacing the old black glass ovens with stainless steel has made my kitchen appear larger and brighter. Love my ovens!

I am very happy with my beautiful new double ovens! They are especially roomy, much more so than previous ovens, apparently with thinner and better insulation. The glass windows are large and easy to see through and the interior lighting is good. Instructions for using heating settings and timing are displayed in a digital screen readout and easy to follow. The only minor complaint is the fan noise which accompanies any and all use of the ovens and afterward until the temperature reaches a set low, but I am even getting used to that! Set temperatures are reached in a reasonable time and a beep notifies of that
fact. All in all I am delighted with our purchase.

After reading the reviews (many of them negative) I was torn as to whether I should purchase or not. So glad I did. The delivery was lightening fast, it arrived 2 days after I placed the order. The mirror black glass finish makes it look very high-end and stylishly sleek. The control panels are easy to read and maneuver. The oven door are strong without feeling too heavy. I do hear the fan noise that other reviewers have complained about but it's not loud too or invasive at all. I haven't tried all of the features yet (like the self-clean) but I'll give an update once I really break the oven in. If I had to make a complaint, I'd say that it seems to take a while to preheat. It takes about 10 minutes or so to get to 400 degrees. But overall, I love it! See photo attached.

People have complained that the oven's fan is too loud. Mine is not that loud. My microwave is much louder than the oven. It looks nice, was easy to install, and seems to bake things just fine. I would recommend it.

This double oven works very well, the temperature is accurate and the features are easily learned. There is only one complaint (from my wife) and it's not a major one. The fan noise is really noisy. However, I found this to be a common complaint on the many brands I researched before ordering this unit.
