When we replaced our old microwave, this was the only option we had to fit the new microwave. Fortunately we could use our old exterior trim which was metal and the slats were tilted so we couldn't see into the hole in the wall. The new trim is plastic, looks like plastic and is vented in a way that you look into the hole in the wall-- not a very pleasing view. We were not pleased with the quality of the exterior trim at all. We did use the support pieces that attach to the microwave and they did fit perfectly.

The installation was an easy one, although we had to use the old frame until we make the cutout larger to fit the new one. The start button is a little difficult to push if you don't push just right. I do not know if I have a problem with the "power level" button until I call for advice. It didn't allow me to select a power level.

Looks good and surprisingly easy to install. It really finished out the look of the new microwave.

This trim kit is made of plastic. All others I have owned are made of metal and at the same price.
I prefer the metal design much more. Metal have air vents this one does not.
