Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BJC815 Great washer with good features, great value
Very good washing machine with great capacity and features. I like that it has a bleach dispenser as well as a fabric softener dispenser. The safety feature of the locking lid is great, and unlocking it to check your load is easy. When the machine is not in operation, the drum will turn freely, making removal of clothes easier. During operation, this machine makes noises between cycles that you've never heard before in a washing machine, but that's clearly spelled out on the inside of the lid as well as in the instruction manual. The first time it runs, you will wonder what's wrong, but it's normal, and after using it a few times, you get used to it. Other than the cycle changes, it's quiet in operation and does a great job cleaning. It has a good selection of wash options and is easy to use.

I had my fill of my evil HE washer that took at least 90 minutes to wash a load (with a record load time of FOUR HOURS). I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the clothing afterward, either. Given the price tag, it should have been sweeping our floors and cooking dinner in addition to washing laundry. After 18 months, we kicked it to the curb.
We decided to go old school and buy a machine with an agitator. I am so, so glad we did. This machine is wonderful. The wash times are much more reasonable, and the clothes are actually clean when they come out of the washer!
Not bad for half the price of the HE piece of junk we bought before it. I hope they never stop making non-HE machines.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MLCM One of my worst purchase.
Installation by HD techs is quick and timely. Techs are also courteous and polite. Product itself has much to be desired. You can't really see it at work and doesn't seem to clean the clothes much. Also, no way you could soak your clothes for better cleaning. Should you attemp to soak your laundry by leaving the lid up, you'll definitely end up wasting the water you've already loaded. Definitely not again and no way would I recommend this washer to anyone. If only I had not asked them to pick up my old unit, I probably would be better off just having that old one fixed and then get more clean laundry from it... Oh well...no getting back now. If only I could just wait till I have enough $$ to choose a better one...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by prosper2day Great Buy
I was looking for something not too expensive but trustworthy. Whirlpool has always been a good standing name and it was what we have purchased in the past.
It has many options for the wash: small to extra large loads; from tap water cold, cold, cool, warm, hot temperature; delicate, lite casual, regular, heavy, normal, light wash cycles; 1-2 rinse cycles with or without softener; then a drain spin/rinse spin option which is great for when the loads become uneven and sensors go off and it allows you to go back without having to engage in the cycle again and top it off with a door lock.
It's is a little noisier than expected, but I love it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clason High quality at an affordable price!
Bought this washer because my 1.5 yr old (energy efficient) Maytag burnt up its motor. Had a repair guy look into it and he said if you don't have the energy efficient washers greased and checked every year then they burn up. A typical maintenance on a new (expensive) ENERGY EFFICIENT washer will be around $170 a year. Never again will I buy one. This washer doesn't really use that much more water but definitely cleans my family's clothes far better than the maytag. I barely notice a difference in my water bill and I just had a baby so we've been washing clothes more frequently. This is an All American made washer and has been very good to my family! Buy American, buy quality!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ffej225 Excellent purchase.
After checking the varying reviews, we made the fantastical journey to the Home Depot site to make this washer ours; and we have now grown fond of it. Not the quietest washer, but compared to it's aging predecessor; who banged, clanged and slammed itself about, and was dragged out of the home and beaten, so as to strike fear into its replacement; this model is but a whisper. Since we have chained it in the basement, you can barely hear it when it's running. It is not overburdened with a great set of "features" and overbearing instructions, but is easy to use and has the water temp settings and cycles we were longing after. And it handles all sorts of loads without complaint.
We have had a single issue with this washer actually, when it snagged a hoodie's pull thread, and wrapped it around the spindle, and the rest of the load, in what appeared to be an imitation of Shelob's web. The hoodie survived, and after a stern talking to, that insubordination has not been repeated.
So, a great buy! Make it yours today!

Product was broke upon delivery. I called Home Depot and they told me I had to call the manufacturer. I called them and they told to me call a local repair shop. I'm now waiting for a new part for my "brand new" washer. Meanwhile, I have to bring all of our clothes up and down 3 flights of stairs and to the laundry mat, in the middle of winter. Glad I paid for a brand new (supposedly high rated) washer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Works great and inexpensive.
It washes cloths and does the job with simplicity. Unlike a front loader, this machine will last 20 years and is a fraction of the price!
