Storing all of your favorite fresh and frozen foods is easy with this Whirlpool 18.7 cu. ft. capacity bottom-freezer refrigerator. And, that food will look just as it should with energy-efficient LED lights, which cast a more natural light and don't reflect the blue hues found in other lighting systems. Keep everything at the right temperature without wasting energy thanks to the Accu-Chill temperature management system, which uses built-in sensors to measure internal temperature and activates the compressor only when necessary. And to keep fruits and vegetables fresh, the FreshFlow produce preserver extends the freshness of produce for up to 4 days longer, while clear humidity-controlled crispers with selectable humidity levels allow you to keep a variety of items tasting great. And you can enjoy having a refrigerator with all of these great features even more knowing it has been designed, engineered and assembled in the U.S.A.

What color is the side on the stainless steel model

Hi, Am just wondering what color the side paneling is on the stainless steel version? Is there a photo available anywhere please?
Asked by: srp123
The side are a dark gray shade. Not an exact match, but looks OK if the sides are exposed.

Can the refrigerator sit flush against the back wall?

Asked by: Shopper
you'd want it to breathe, plus, if you get the ice maker on, you'd need room for the water line from the back anyway

When the compressor is working, the whole floor can hear the noise, horrible! We called service engineer to come to check, it turns out that Whirlpool use cheep material to produce the refrigerator, and cut off all noisy isolation designs. So no noisy isolation at all! We were also told that this refrigerator was good years ago, but NOT ANY MORE.

And be vigilant of the delivery team and possible complications. Best of luck!! On the first attempt, the refrigerator delivered to me had two big dents on the freezer door, and I kept it as a loaner. That unit worked beautifully! I would have kept it had I been offered a discount. 14 days later, I got my new unit. It works beautifully, however, I have two complains (1) when the delivery team switched the doors, they did not use caps to cover the holes where the original screws were, and (2) a bigger concern is that the door does not close on its own. I need to push it back, and that takes precious seconds. My concern is not only for the waste of time, but also for the unnecessary changes in temperature that can occur for leaving the door open longer during the summer. It might be a matter of an adjustment, but my complain is that the delivery team should take a few minutes to verify that all is well before they leave. But they are in so much rush to get in and out... I'm sure it's motivated by how they are evaluated by their management, but hey! customer satisfaction suffers in the process. I read from other buyers that it was a noisy unit. Mine is not (and even the loaner unit was not either).

We have a small kitchen so this fit perfectly, only the front is stainless , the sides are dark grey. Hand and finger marks clean easily with a micro cloth from the stainless door fronts. The door swings open very readily and does not close on its own because of the weight of the jars and bottles that we have in the door's pockets. It's not a fault, one just has to be sure to manually close the door completely . It cools and freezes perfectly. It has been in our kitchen for one week and we are very satisfied with the price, product, Home Depot, and the delivery process. Lisle, Illinois

The bottom freezer makes it much easier to see and access food because it's at eye level and there is a lot less stooping. The door is much roomier on both levels and storage works better. It's uniformly cold. You can probably tell my former fridge was about 20 years old. One thing I did not do was get the water line installed because that seems to be more trouble than it's worth for all models (based on my limited research) so I am still keeping a pitcher of cold water and ice trays the old fashioned way. Anyhow, I am very happy with this fridge and hope it will last me many years. Home Depot's installation and delivery team was stellar, as they were for the other appliance purchase I made this year.

On Oct 29, 2016, just a few weeks ago and already the thing is making such motor noise as to make one almost twitch! A loud whining noise and in a small kitchen very very annoying. The last one we had to 'throw out' because the bottom freezer flooded with water and froze of course. Continually had to chip it away. Whatever it is with this brand of refrig, they seem to be of very poor quality. I'm in the process of attempting to get a solution with the mfg. Home Depot is out of the picture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High-pitched running noise almost a deal-breaker This fridge works well for the space I have, as it is smaller than a "standard" fridge. It works well- keeps food at the correct temperature, and I like that the shelves are adjustable and sturdy. It is very convenient having the fridge on top, and the freezer holds a surprising amount of food. My only complaints are: 1.) There is a high-pitched humming sound (think ringing in your ears sound) when it is running. It isn't constant, but definitely noticeable, even from a room away. I have had the fridge for a month, and still consider sending it back sometimes because of this. It's one of those noises that's hard to ignore. 2.) The installers did not give it enough tilt so that the door swings closed on its own. I asked them to, and they appeared to, but after they left, I realized they were giving it a "push". So, if you don't push it hard enough, the door will appear to close, but will really stay open a couple of inches (not good if you don't realize it for awhile!). Overall, a good fridge, especially since options are limited for this size range. If they could fix the high-pitched running noise, I would give it 5 stars! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced a tired GE We have had the Whirlpool in for just over two weeks and it is performing like a champ. The stainless steel doors are nicely finished and the fact that the cabinet surround is grey instead of black has drastically brightened up the kitchen in that area as the appliance is at the end of the cabinet row. I certainly appreciate the wide opening doors on both the refrigerator and freezer sections, this makes loading in groceries easy. The combination of the wire basket that pulls out in the freezer and the fixed shelf and in door storage swallows many more items than the previous drawer pull freezer. Most of the shelves are customizable in the refrigerator section, making it easy to find homesnot odd sized items. The LED bulbs are bright and illuminate the storage areas in both compartments perfectly. We are running the unit at the recommended settings of 4 and it is more than adequate. Up until the Whirlpool unit I have felt the need to turn the unit to a folder setting than the "normal" mode...not this unit. If you then add the fact that this refrigerator is actually smaller dimensionally than the GE unit we replaced and yet has a larger interior space due to design efficiencies, you can understand why I have no problem highly recommending this unit to anyone. I will say that the cooling system has a different tone than the GE it replaced, but we will get used to that given all the positives the unit brings, and runs more efficiently. Just make sure you pay attention to placement recommendations that come with the unit. Many try to wedge units into too tight a spot and then are surprised that the doors bang into cabinets and walls. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
