Customer Questions & Answers

Will the door shelves hold a gallon milk container?

Will the door shelves hold a gallon milk container?
Asked by: jc
I haven't bought a gallon jug of milk in ages, but the deepest shelf appears to be 6.5" from the inner edge of the rim to the inside plastic panel of the door and about a foot wide. Of course, the height is adjustable so you can find a way to fit whatever you're storing between the shelf you're using and the one above it.

Does this model have lighted displays on exterior ice/water dispensers?

Does this model have lighted displays on exterior ice/water dispensers?
Asked by: Judi
The user interface above the water spigot and ice chute includes words and symbols in electric blue against the black background. [It's not why I chose this model, but the nerd in me does think it looks pretty cool.] The buttons on the control panel allow you to select Freezer settings, ice/water settings, Refrigerator settings and worklight options. Oh, and there's a little red "You left the door open, dummy!" indicator, as well.

What is the difference between the WRS332FDDM AND THE 331?

I cant find a difference in the descriptions.
Asked by: Be
Would you be referring to the WRS335FDDM? If so, the primary difference is the the WRS335FDMM and the WRS331FDMM is the width and cu ft capacity. The WRS331 is 33" wide and 21 cu ft whereas the WRS335 is 36" wide and 25 cu ft. Hope this helps. Thanks

What is the interior width of the freezer? My current freezer is so narrow can't fit a dinner plate.

Asked by: Readytopurchase
Well, we're using 8" dinner plates, 'cause we don't eat much. The shelf is 9.5" wide so our dinner plates would fit. The wife would kill me, though, if I put the plates in the freezer because that would make them very brittle and at greater risk of shattering from an unexpected bump. I noticed, however, that most people use 10" dinner plates -- which would be too wide for the freezer.

33 in. W 21.3 cu. ft. Side by Side Refrigerator in Monochromatic Stainless Steel is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 363.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average This Refrigerator does OK. Keeps things cool on the right side (as you face it) and frozen on the left. The doors look like they are heavily constructed. They do show every finger print, smudge and water drip. The water dispenser only gives you 50 degree water IF the compressor is running, other times it closer to sixty, so if you like cold water, add ice. No adjustment on that, it is what it is. Drip tray under water dispenser is very small, if you use the water dispenser a lot you will be cleaning this out about every other day. You almost always get extra water drops after removing your water glass. NOT ENERGY STAR Rated. All the advertisements on the web show that it is, IT IS NOT (Confirmed with Whirlpool) ! if your local power company offers a rebate, this refrigerator will not get you one ( We tried and got shot down ). If you like your Milk cold, you will need to store it on the top shelve, not the door, by the time you get the door shelves cold enough for Milk your freezing stuff in the back of the refrigerator. Ice system is very loud during operations. So will this do the job yes, will it cost you more to run, yes. Will it keep your stuff cold, depends on where you put it in the refrigerator. Our previous refrigerator died, so this purchase was based on availability. Wished we had more time to research. If you want something better engineered, and I believe those refrigerators are out there, do your homework and be prepared to spend some more money. I do not believe this was worth what was paid but we will have to live with it until it dies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Watch What you buy. NOT ENERGY STAR RATED!! NOT ENERGY STAR RATED ! Old refrigerator (11 years old) died and had to hurry up and find another. This one had ice/water on the door which we wanted in a new refrigerator, Stainless steel doors have that heavy look (beware they do show the finger prints). It's a tad louder than our last refrigerator. DOES NOT HAVE HINGE COVERS on top of unit, If your tall you will be faced with metal door hinges that make the top of the this refrigerator look unfinished. My next question is why in this day in age you produce NON-Energy Star appliances is beyond me. The Refrigerator does what it's suppose to do, cold on the right, frozen on the left. If you like your gallon jugs of milk or juice cold, use the top shelve and not the door. By the time you adjust the refrigerator to get the door stuff cold, your freezing stuff at the back of the refrigerator. We move the door shelf as far up as possible and it didn't make a difference. Our milk now has to sit on the top shelf. If you like cold water, you will need ice in your glass with this refrigerator. The guide states that the water is kept at 50 f degree's, it only seems to get close to being that cold if the compressor is running, Even if you run two glasses of water through this it's 60 degree's or higher when the compressor is off. My wife went out to shop for this, I reviewed it on the retailers web site that listed it as Energy Star and told her to go ahead and purchase it. When I applied for our local Electrical company's rebate ($50.00) it was denied. This is when I found out it's NOT ENERGY STAR RATED ! So will it keep stuff cold and frozen, yes so far after two weeks it has. Does it look finished, no. Will it cost you more to run, yes and if you see this advertised as ENERGY STAR RATED, it ISN'T (Yes I checked directly with Whirlpool). Now I'm kinda of stuck until it dies. For the money I spent, I do not feel I got my money's worth and I can't afford to replace it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Fridge I'm very happy with my new refrigerator. The LED lights are really bright and I'm able to see everything easily. The ice cubes are a little smaller than a normal ice cube, but I like that. The only thing that I've found that I don't like is the water despensor does not go out enough and I'm left with water going down the side of the fridge or the ice going everywhere. I wish there was a little ledge for a cup to be centered correctly under the water/ice despensor. But other than that, I'm enjoying it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It has water. IN THE DOOR, WOW! When I was growing up we had a refrigerator that had water and ice in the door. That was thirty years ago. Now I had the opportunity to buy a new refrigerator where cost wasn't an issue and I love the ice and water in the door feature. And it has a reverse osmosis filter in it which I guess is a newer thing in refrigerators. I have bad water so that's definitely a plus. Also it's stainless steel and you can still place magnets to it. So that's cool. It seems like whirlpool has definitely been listening to the wants and needs of their customers and continues to innovate to that end. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I expected a little more for the money All in all its a fine unit. Due to our low cabinets there were literally only 3 or 4 stainless side by side or French door units that would fit our space. We opted to pay notably more for this one the ice maker was about 1/2 the height of competing models so it left more space in the freezer, the water filter is because it seemed to have the most useful room for the size. For example, the ice maker in the door is less bulky than competing units and the water filter is in the base rather than in a bulge in the fridge. Less space lost for those features. Also the controls for the door ice have fewer complaints of wear and breakage than the cheaper models, and we use the ice and water a lot. Also there are multiple lights in each side so it's not bright up top and dark at the bottom. Unfortunately there are a couple of things that are a little disappointing. The door handles aren't perfectly aligned. I've tried to adjust them but one is about an 1/8" higher than the other. Hardly noticeable but annoying for an approximately eighteen hundred dollar appliance. Also, the cold cuts drawer moves smoothly but the meat and crisper drawers stick pretty badly. You have to wrestle to get them open and I cracked one on the second day because it didn't close all the way and the door shelf hit it, but didn't just slide the drawer in the rest of the way like on our old fridge. Also, the ice maker took about two days to fill because it only makes 8 cubes every half hour or so, and it's kind of noisy so there was a consistent racket. Lastly, I hope the filter lasts because the process for flushing a new one takes 5-10 minutes and a lot of manual effort. On the plus side it doesn't seem to fingerprint too badly, and a microfiber cloth gets them off with relative ease. It runs quietly too and had adjustable shelves, which other models surprisingly didn't have. Satisfied overall, as long as it holds up. We have the extended warranty just in case.
