Can I get a straight on picture of this plug? Or a picture that shows what sort of plug this is? This side view of this is not very helpful, I cannot tell if the plugs are all straight or if one is curved slightly.

Is red and black hot and white and green ground

Asked by: duck
I'm a licensed electrician and install these cords often. The red and black are the "hot" wires. The white is the neutral conductor (used for the clock and oven light bulb in most ranges# and the green wire is the ground. In a 4-wire range configuration, the neutral and ground must be kept separate. Whenever connecting a 4-wire range cord to any range, it is important to remove the bonding jumper at the terminal block that connects the neutral conductor to the frame of the range. Please note: If you have a wire to the range that only has 3 conductors, do NOT use a 4-wire range cord and 4-wire receptacle. Use a 3-wire range cord #and receptacle) which combines the neutral with the ground. Three-wire range circuits are not allowed to be installed for newer installations and are only acceptable for existing/older applications.

Gauge size

What is the gauge on this product? It's a little hard to believe that something so important is not listed under the product description. Thanks.
Asked by: Curious
Curious, The gauge of the wires is information that is not published, therefore I am unable to provide. However, I can tell you this cord is designed for a 40 amp circuit and is suitable, meets the guidelines, for residential ranges. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool Corporation accessory.
