So when you bake something, you can't even touch the handle to open the oven because it would burn you. In fact, the top, front, side of the entire unit is too hot to the touch. I would think that this is a safety issue. Can someone who bought this model comment on whether their unit has this same problem? Thanks.

Whirlpool is denying that they know anything, despite online reviews such as this. I will follow up on this site if things change.
On the other hand, the cooktop is great! :)

Yes, this thing is, YIKES!! Hot. And it takes a while to cool off. I suspect that is normal because it is meant to make your cooking more efficient. Just keep any little ones far away while this is on.

I haven't had this issue. The only part that gets hot is the top/the stove, which also happened with the old gas range we had prior to this one. I've never had any problem touching the handle when the oven is on.

Ours is hot also, although we hang towels on our handle so I don't know if the handle gets that hot, but I am very cautious about having little ones around when baking. (I don't plan on keeping this range for more than a year because of all the issues we have with it.)

I use a damp paper towel and then I dry it, again I use paper towels so there isn't any lint left from a cloth. When I have something sticky I spray a little windex and it cleans very easy. I am very pleased with this range.

You don't need any special type of cleaner. Just remove the grates and wipe with a damp rag. If food is stuck on, I've just used the rougher side of my sponge. Nothing harsh. Stubborn stickies need to soak a bit with a soap and water solution. Just squeeze your excess water from your sponge on them, wait a bit, then wipe up.

Yes and the conversion kit comes with it, it is very easy to do. The only confusion I had was the oven part, you lift the bottom inside the oven to change that one, I was looking all around the outside and inside the broiler then figured it out. Besides that I had no problem at all.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not recommend The range surface gets hot to touch when in use. The outside gets extra hot when using the oven. The flame control is literally 3 settings. No in between. The burner grates opening are too far apart that small pots fall through. The griddle is too small. most of the grates is exposed but that is what is shown on the picture. The oven rack grills are too far apart as well that it doesn't allow placing any loose food, every thing must be placed on a cookie sheet. The oven bulb went out after 2 uses and the replacement bulb (I purchased) went out two uses after as well. This my 3rd bulb. The paint came off after cleaning. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this stove! After doing quite a bit of research before purchasing a new stove, this one ended at the top of my list, and I am so glad it did. The price was incredible for this. I love everything about the stove top and over. The oven heats quickly and is pretty true to the temp setting. The higher btu burners took a little getting used to butt hat was worth the look and function of this range August 9, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very hot ! good cooking tonight....... 5 burners - but would like the oven light to have worked initially. Oven is large and roomy - the racks seem a little thin but slide very easy i and out . wow the burners on top really heat things up well. I still get a little confused however as to which knobs work which burners. overall wifey is very happy for a good and I am for a well priced oven / range. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stove Great range at a fantastic price. Only critique is hard to keep top clean. You must remove both grates to clean spills. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stove - Terrible Delivery Company Home Depot Uses I really like my Stove, however the company Home Depot used to deliver my stove (Freight Rite) is terrible. They tore my kitchen floor when they brought the stove into my new house and I have been fighting with them. The denied my claim and now I am appealing. What a joke. I should have ordered the Stove from Lowes and paid a little more. At least my floor in my new house would still be in good shape. I will never order a appliance for delivery from Home Depot again.
