Customer Questions & Answers

We just bought this stove and when we use the oven set to 350 degrees for 30 minutes, the exterior is too hot to the touch. Is this normal?

So when you bake something, you can't even touch the handle to open the oven because it would burn you. In fact, the top, front, side of the entire unit is too hot to the touch. I would think that this is a safety issue. Can someone who bought this model comment on whether their unit has this same problem? Thanks.
Asked by: Wesley
The outside of mine gets warm not hot. I have never had the handle get hot either. I would call customer service to have someone check it out.

Asked by: Ed1019
Yes it does. It is a small on, but still useful. Other ones are available as well.

how do you clean the stove stop

After making some fish fry the stove top got some spots and i cannot get them out. Please help.
Asked by: goldnlox
Any good detergent should be used. But it helps to clean promptly any food gets on it. I put my grates and inserts in my dishwasher along with dishes once in a while. They come out sparkling clean.

The downsides are that the oven racks bowed under the weight of out Thanksgiving turkey and the oven pops while it's baking - but otherwise the temperature is even and it heats up fast! The range is pretty to look at but the 5th burner (on the inside) is a joke! Because of burner location there is no way you could fit 5 regular sized pots on the stove. If the burners we spaced out more toward the edge than this wouldn't be as much of an issue. Luckily that's not why we bought this stove. Overall we were happy with the price, quick delivery and performance so far. Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend The range surface gets hot to touch when in use. The outside gets extra hot when using the oven. The flame control is literally 3 settings. No in between. The burner grates opening are too far apart that small pots fall through. The griddle is too small. most of the grates is exposed but that is what is shown on the picture. The oven rack grills are too far apart as well that it doesn't allow placing any loose food, every thing must be placed on a cookie sheet. The oven bulb went out after 2 uses and the replacement bulb (I purchased) went out two uses after as well. This my 3rd bulb. The paint came off after cleaning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good and inexpensive gas range. I like everything about it especially the lower SDGE bill. There is only one thing that seems substandard. The racks that come with the oven and for the broiler are kind of weak and small, so I replaced them with a couple of GE racks that I measured for from ebay for a small amount of money. Now it's terrific.

Cubic feet of oven is simple mathematic reality. I wanted a 5.1 cf, I got a 5.1 cf. Happy with those things. The clock is so bright that the refraction of the lens covering the clock makes it silly to read. My only real issue is, at this price point, I do not see why a 3rd rack and a broiler tray were not included. That just seems like a lame way to save on production costs. Boo to the operations people and playing games with price elasticty.

There was a lot of review talk about the front and/or sides of the range getting hot while on for a while either cooking or baking or both (some read too hot to touch, some read too hot to stand in front of, etc). I have not had this issue at all. Range was delivered on 10/20/16 and since then I've cooked four times, baked once and did a combo cook while baking. The oven never got too hot to handle. I didn't need an oven mitt to open the door handle, just used my bare hands. The heat level (low to high) is fantastic and has quite the range. Basically, the oven I received works perfect. Love the five burners, love the free griddle. It does not come with broiler pan, as other reviewers have stated so if you have the option of taking the pan from your old oven (as I did) I suggest you do so. It's easy to clean and it does look beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have I am a property manager for an older apartment complex in which we just purchased in December. We are trying to upgrade units that have not seen an upgrade since the building was built in 1965.(lots of work and lots of money) We are on a budget so we were looking for a nice upgrade to offer our tenants, but yet a cost-efficient one. That is when I came across these stainless steel ovens. They are the perfect size actually quite large, and stainless steel a huge upgrade for them. It was everything I was looking for, and my tenants absolutely love them. They stated that they are the best ovens that they have ever owned. I will be purchasing 12 more of them, and recommend them to anybody that is on a budget or even not on a budget.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Terrible cooktop design We were very excited upon arrival it looks cool, and the fifth burner would be great for cooking large family meals. The deep well of the cooktop is always in need of cleaning. Salt, small spills, and slight boil overs require you to remove the very heavy grates to wipe every time you cook. It comes with only two racks, so you have to remove one to use the broiler. It cooks great, but requires too much daily maintenance. If you cook everyday, I'd opt for a different design. The 5.1 size makes the 5th burner useless if using the other 4

Product came with a large dent on the metal face sheet of the upper control panel. It was enough of a dent to buckle the sheet metal on the back. Whirlpool offered $117 to accept as-is and everything appears to be working. Just be aware that you may be paying for features but insulation will be less and overall construction will be of thinner metal. The bottom draw is very flimsy. But, for $500 I'll get a few years out of it.
