As for the control lock error, my suggestion would be to unplug the appliance. Leave it unplugged for several minutes and allow the control panel to reset, then plug back in. If you can not access the plug, then shut the breaker off for several minutes and then turn back on. If this does not work, then call The Home Depot/ Whirlpool Corporation Hotline at 877.461.3376, Option 2, Option 1. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance and being our customer. Since I received two OPPOSING responses to my question, WHICH ONE IS TRUE?

If the REAL answer is that you cannot leave these racks in the oven, does this manufacturer make the porcelain-coated racks that CAN be left in the oven during the cleaning cycle??????????????
Thank you.

When the repair tech came to repair my oven he reminded me that you CAN NOT keep the racks in the oven otherwise it will remove the shiny coating on them. I don't know about the porcelain racks

Customer Reviews

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing We ordered the same stove from another vender and five times were sent a damaged stove (like something had been dropped on it). Then we ordered from Home Depot. The stove looked like it may have been dropped and was dented on the back near the floor. Since the damage couldn't be seen when the stove was installed, we decided to keep it. The stove top works, but the oven takes forever to preheat (30 minutes plus) and then when it supposedly reaches the appropriate temperature, it is actually only about half of that. We tried for three days to make it work and finally called Whirlpool. They confirmed that the oven was misbehaving and said they would send a repair person on Friday, but Friday came and nothing happened. We learned we had never gotten on the list for repairs because they were too busy. Now the repair person is scheduled to come this Friday. It has been weeks since we have had an oven to use. The whole experience has been very disappointing and we haven't seen the end yet. July 22, 2014
