Answer:
marty,
This Whirlpool Slide In does not have a lip around the edge of the appliance. It is designed to fit in the space similar to a freestanding range with rear controls. This makes for a much easier installation and still provides a great look. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Range! Love the easy to reach front controls, accurate bake times and the shear beauty of this appliance! We have already had several comments from friends on how nice the range is. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] August 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice styling seem to bake evenly. So far my biggest concern is the extreme heat in the drawer below the oven. When I first was setting up my kitchen I threw the pot holders, etc into the bottom drawer, like I used to with my previous GE. When the oven for the first time I was shocked at the heat that was generated in the lower drawer. When reviewing the literature that came with the over I noticed the warning in the book. A lot of times people don't read all of the literature at all. May better insulation would be a better solution rather than a note in the owner manual. Also I don't know if some of the Builders helpers helped themselves to glass top cleaner that usually comes with a new product or if Whirlpool decided that the customer does not need the product to clean the top. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Oven Within a month of owning the plastic door oven handle broke. Next the plastic trim sealing the door and holding the heat in came off completely. I cannot bake a cake in the oven as the accubake technology is a joke, it burned the outside of the cake and the cake was still raw in the middle. On multiple occasions the oven just shuts off during use. The only way to get it back on is to pull the oven out and unplug it to reset it. June 4, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not thrilled - would shop further next time We like the oven performance, and we like the appearance out of the box. Other than that, we are not happy with this purchase. The burners heat up at different rates, the top is impossible to keep clean and is difficult to get clean in the first place. The sunken control pad collects filth that is difficult to remove (do you really want to get out the vacuum every time you wipe down your cook top?) The oven cleaning cycle (uses water in the oven) is worthless as are the cleaning tools they provide with the range. Gone is the high heat cleaning cycle that leaves all contaminants as ash. Now they presume that your oven dirt is limited to a little charred pie crust. That apple pie filling that boils over onto the oven floor? Don't count on a little boiling water and steam to budge that stuff, and the plastic scraper they provide takes more damage from the varnish that it dishes out. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Burner malfunction The 1st time used the stove. The right front burner was defective. We used the remaining burners to prepare the meal. Called service, they were there the same day. Had to order a new switch assembly. It came in in 2 days, bringing installed tomorrow. That is good service for a great product. Defects happen, but this type of service is excellent. April 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst stove ever Are you kidding are we in 1950? I had to clean the oven by hand, the new self cleaning only got to 200 degrees and for 30 minutes it didn't clean anything I had to scrub a $1600.00 oven. and you cant use anything in the oven to help clean it. I had the repair man come and he told me that that was a huge issue for everyone and there was nothing they can do. I am returning the oven if I want a oven from 1950 it better come with a 1950 price!! March 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It's OK Works fine. Adjustable legs are too short to adjust range to my counter-top height. Glass top is a pain to keep clean. Oven is too large thus making storage drawer too small. Sure wiah there was a model that had a built-in grill like the Jenn Aire I replaced March 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfectly pleased Completely remodeled kitchen. Bought Whirlpool products because not only were they recommended by my kitchen designer but they are American made. Love the sleek stainless steel feature. I am still adjusting to the glass top feature but so far so good. February 15, 2016
