Product Overview

A dryer with intelligence. This 7.0 cu. ft. Whirlpool electric dryer features the AutoDry system, which senses when clothes have reached the right temperature and stops the cycle to save energy. It has 13 automatic cycles and 4 temperature settings to give you precise control over your drying. And the Wrinkle Sheild feature periodically tumbles, rearranges, and fluffs the load to help keep wrinkles from forming. Now that's smart.

According to the installation instructions for this dryer, it requires 4-wire direct wire connection instead of 3. So, I guess the answer to your question is likely to be no, although I have not asked the delivery/installation guy when they were here.

Pops,
When purchasing a new dryer, you need to purchase a new dryer cord also. You can not use an old cord on a new appliance, it will void the warranty. This is to ensure safety and use a new cord with a new appliance. Thank you for viewing this dryer.

We asked the same thing when we ordered ours in store, the service lady told us they will not install it with your old hookup or plug because of safety reasons and we had to purchase both the vent that leads outside and a new plug for them to install free.

I imagine you can, but when purchased from Home Depot, you must purchase the electric cord as part of the package. I didn't have a choice. The delivery men hooked it all up for me. I didn't have to do a thing. That's the power of "Home Depot".

I don't see why not . But it is best to buy a new one with then purchase of the dryer . It cost little to nothingfor a new one. It also depends what kind you had before . It may be a 3 wore or a four wire hook up on back of dryer .

Answer:
mlea,
The power cord is not provided with the dryer. Electric dryers do not come with cords in general. This is because homes have two types of outlets which you stated either a 3 or 4 prong. During checkout, you will be prompted to choose the cord that fits your outlet. A new cord is required for a new dryer. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool dryer.

Answer:
The back of the dryer is basically flat, with the exception of the vent that you would need to allow for it to come out. And since the vent would likely need to bend S-shaped to go out, you should factor that into your consideration.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1897 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simpe features I like the features of this unit because they are simple to understand and the unit works very well for my needs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] July 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I love my new dryer! This machine is very efficient and it has a great feature called Wrinkle Shield that works! Very large capacity, I tend to run smaller loads to ensure my clothes get cleaned (I do not pack my washer) - this whirlpool keeps up with the wash machine. No more sitting around waiting for clothes to dry while a load sits in the wash machine. For the most part it is really quiet, occasionally small little rumble my neighbor said its because there is only a couple of items in the machine - it's a emergency quickie load? The installers were great and asked which way I wanted the door to open, very friendly too. My plan has been to move the dryer to the right of the washer. I'll be moving it this weekend, now that I have longer water hoses. You cannot go wrong with this machine. July 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good job and simple to use I like products that get the job done and are simple to use. This dryer fits the bill--easy to use and gets the job done. Like all dryers I have had in the past, the more often I use this dryer, the better I become acquainted with the capabilities of the various settings. I like its simplicity, no bells and whistles. The knobs are well situated, easy to read, easy to use. I feel it does a good job drying clothes. September 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price! Great Results! This is a simple plain white dryer under $500 that gets the job DONE. It's big on the inside and dries clothes much faster than my old dryer. No more rows of clean washed clothes waiting to be dried, because my dryer couldn't keep up with my washer. Now a load in my washer is done so are the clothes in my dryer and so on. No regrets on this purchase, I love my dryer. March 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so Good...love the energy saver feature This dryer is easy to use and does a great job drying our clothes. Only been a few weeks but no problems at all. I would say a great deal for a great price. Glad we bought it! April 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great dryer Dryer matches the washer I purchased last year. Very nice and functional. Does a good job at drying and I like the wrinkle guard feature. Only problem is the dents when box was cut away at delivery. March 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome! This dryer is awesome! It has performed excellently. I especially like the Wrinkle Shield. The best investment I've made for quite a while. October 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love this dryer. This is a very large dryer. It is a great dryer and the eco setting is perfect. Our drying time is in half. September 17, 2013
