It runs on the 110. That's the reason I bought it - I already had the gas hook up from my old dryer. I would have had to install the 220 line AND a new electrical panel to accommodate an electric dryer.

Yes if you're having it "installed"; there appears to be a California law that you can't use an old gas connector. The answer is probably No if you're a do-it-yourselfer and you feel your current gas connection items are in good condition.

HandyHenrietta,
You would to select the Gas Dryer Install Kit, Venting, and Service if you would like the delivery team to provide this service for you. New dryers require a new vent and gas line connection. However, if you want to perform this installation yourself, you can, just following the use and care guide and the installation guide. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price and fast delivery..!!! Great product for the price and quick delivery..!! We got it within 3 days from the time we purchased it online..:) March 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dryer is good the dryer does exactly what I wanted - the door opens the wrong way, but I understand that can be fixed or adjusted... I didn't know that. December 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Old School Gas Dryer is the Best Thanks to the previous reviews I chose to purchase this dryer, after the old Maytag I had of 13 years died. I wanted just a basic gas dryer -- no bells or whistles, steam sanitizing, bed bug elimination or electronics -- and so far, I am pleased with this new Whirlpool model that is old school. It takes less time to dry standard loads than my old dryer, and so I expect to save money on energy bills. Some of the reviews said it was noisy and lacked an interior light. It does have a hum, but it is not annoying. The light I don't need, so no big deal it doesn't have one. The door can be reversed to open from right to left if you need it to. I saved $200 during Home Depot's sale on this model. The delivery persons were friendly and professional and had my new dryer hooked up in a snap. They hauled the old clunker away for no charge. Definitely recommend this gas dryer if all you need to do is to dry clothes. Great value for the price. July 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by And 13 months later, this dryer is dead What I wanted was a large dryer from a decent brand, nothing flashy. Things went wrong from the beginning when they actually delivered this to the wrong address, two doors down to my neighbor. She signed for it and then there was no way to get it to my house. When I called HD they told me to contact the manufacturer. They did nothing so I had to pay someone to move dryer to my home. The next headache was installing it (but that's beside the point). Now forward 13 months later and this dryer won't even make a beep when I press the on button. I checked everything. Mind you I only use it about three times a month. I now have to call someone to come check this thing out and then pay to fix it. I don't recommend this dryer. Thanks! July 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Whirlpool WGD4800BQ dryer As others have said, this dryer is definitely LOUD. It is ok behind closed doors, though. As stated in the specs, it doesn't have an interior light - which, for me, will take some getting used to (as will the side opening door). The end of cycle signal is very brief. That being said, the performance, features & sale price made this dryer an excellent purchase! Drys very quickly, and leaves clothes virtually wrinkle-free. It has 4 heat settings, including a "very low" setting, which is exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this dryer. Home Depot customer service was excellent - above & beyond! February 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value I have owned this dryer for about 7 months and so far its been very good. It dries the clothes well and keeps them from getting wrinkled. It's has 3 basic controls instead of a lot of digital controls that I think are not needed just to dry clothes and are just the source of more things that could break. I also like that it has a buzzer to alert you when the clothes are dry. It's too soon to make a comment on reliability . June 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple and Quiet After a couple repairs to my previous Whirlpool dryer (no complaint, it had dried MANY loads of laundry) it was time to stop repairing and get a new one. I wanted a simple dryer without spending too much, and this one was a good deal without a lot of extra features. Anyway, the drum is noticeably larger than the previous (although the outer cabinet is the same) which is nice. I don't think I'd load any more clothes in at a time, but that means they have more room to tumble. Also, it is quite a bit quieter which is really nice. The lint trap seems to catch more than the old one as well. The buzzer is pretty awful, but easy to turn off. I've only had it a week or so, but probably run 10-12 loads in that time. It seems to be working well, dries quickly, no problems. If it lasts as long as the last one, I'll be perfectly happy. March 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke after 4 months 4 months old and it makes a loud banging noise. Sounds like the belt is misaligned. family of 3. Had my previous drier for 20 years. Doesn't bode well for the future. Now I have to call whirlpool, jump through some hoops, schedule a repair, get a 4 hour window, hopefully get it fixed and then wait for the other foot to fall. Never heard of a drier breaking in 4 months. Where's the quality? Unable to indicate I DO NOT recommend this. May 18, 2015
