Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home59 This Old School Gas Dryer is the Best
Thanks to the previous reviews I chose to purchase this dryer, after the old Maytag I had of 13 years died. I wanted just a basic gas dryer -- no bells or whistles, steam sanitizing, bed bug elimination or electronics -- and so far, I am pleased with this new Whirlpool model that is old school. It takes less time to dry standard loads than my old dryer, and so I expect to save money on energy bills. Some of the reviews said it was noisy and lacked an interior light. It does have a hum, but it is not annoying. The light I don't need, so no big deal it doesn't have one. The door can be reversed to open from right to left if you need it to. I saved $200 during Home Depot's sale on this model. The delivery persons were friendly and professional and had my new dryer hooked up in a snap. They hauled the old clunker away for no charge. Definitely recommend this gas dryer if all you need to do is to dry clothes. Great value for the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ann(hen Whirlpool Dryer
I purchased this dryer about a month ago and it runs quietly and dries VERY efficiently as compared to my old dryer. The clothing comes out clean and few wrinkles. HIGHLY recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

the dryer does exactly what I wanted - the door opens the wrong way, but I understand that can be fixed or adjusted... I didn't know that.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Oliviacd And 13 months later, this dryer is dead
What I wanted was a large dryer from a decent brand, nothing flashy. Things went wrong from the beginning when they actually delivered this to the wrong address, two doors down to my neighbor. She signed for it and then there was no way to get it to my house. When I called HD they told me to contact the manufacturer. They did nothing so I had to pay someone to move dryer to my home. The next headache was installing it (but that's beside the point). Now forward 13 months later and this dryer won't even make a beep when I press the on button. I checked everything. Mind you I only use it about three times a month. I now have to call someone to come check this thing out and then pay to fix it. I don't recommend this dryer. Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ny2GaLori Whirlpool WGD4800BQ dryer
As others have said, this dryer is definitely LOUD. It is ok behind closed doors, though. As stated in the specs, it doesn't have an interior light - which, for me, will take some getting used to (as will the side opening door). The end of cycle signal is very brief. That being said, the performance, features & sale price made this dryer an excellent purchase! Drys very quickly, and leaves clothes virtually wrinkle-free. It has 4 heat settings, including a "very low" setting, which is exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this dryer. Home Depot customer service was excellent - above & beyond!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by UnpaidMaid Good Value
I have owned this dryer for about 7 months and so far its been very good. It dries the clothes well and keeps them from getting wrinkled. It's has 3 basic controls instead of a lot of digital controls that I think are not needed just to dry clothes and are just the source of more things that could break. I also like that it has a buzzer to alert you when the clothes are dry. It's too soon to make a comment on reliability .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AMc Simple and Quiet
After a couple repairs to my previous Whirlpool dryer (no complaint, it had dried MANY loads of laundry) it was time to stop repairing and get a new one. I wanted a simple dryer without spending too much, and this one was a good deal without a lot of extra features. Anyway, the drum is noticeably larger than the previous (although the outer cabinet is the same) which is nice. I don't think I'd load any more clothes in at a time, but that means they have more room to tumble. Also, it is quite a bit quieter which is really nice. The lint trap seems to catch more than the old one as well. The buzzer is pretty awful, but easy to turn off. I've only had it a week or so, but probably run 10-12 loads in that time. It seems to be working well, dries quickly, no problems. If it lasts as long as the last one, I'll be perfectly happy.
