Customer Questions & Answers

Is it stackable? May a put the washer above it or below it?

I live in an apartment and I don't have the space to put the washer and the dryer side by side. I would like to know if I can put the dryer or the washer (Whirpool) above it or below it.
Asked by: rofarias
Stacking? I would guess most anything can be stacked if it is properly supported and connected. (Can you reach in the top unit)? The last part of your questions implied you might put the washer on top. ~ This thought may or not be an issue, but I'll touch on it anyway. If the gray-water discharge line from the clothes washer is improperly installed (mounting or positioning) the washing machine might gravity drain or appear to malfunction. Check to make sure the models capability if your 2" (Yes, it should be 2" to minimize excessive back pressure or flooding) wall drain is compatible with your washer height.

If this dryer is ventless why is "semi rigid dryer duct" listed as a required part at check out?

Asked by: pickychick
It is optional, I wondered the same thing. Just call customer service when ready to order and make sure you aren't charged for that equipment

Total installed depth?

I see in the specs that the dryer is about 32" deep. How many additional inches (to back wall) are necessary for whatever hoses, cords, etc come out the back?
Asked by: pickychick
I got mine to slide in and sit about 30 1/2" from wall (at the top of the dryer, the door sticks out farther). The washer is the trouble maker as its plug is just stupid. It points directly out horizontally and seriously adds a couple inches onto the depth. The dryer plug (I think we had to supply) does a 90 degree bend downward taking up virtually no additional space. You can get this dryer really far back and nothing like a vented dryer..

Can I use the drain pipe that is used for the washing machine?

I plan on buying the washing machine and stacking the dryer on top of it. Do I need to have another drain installed? If the dryer is stacked, how can I move it away from the wall to vacuum the back?
Asked by: Jane
Yes, it comes with the necessary pipe and has a metal 'hook' of sorts on the end to stay seated in the same drain pipe. Works great.

7.3 cu. ft. Ventless Electric Dryer with Heat Pump Technology in Chrome Shadow, ENERGY STAR is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed! We have our new ventless dryer for almost a month now and LOVE it! It solves a venting issue for our home, and has been the perfect solution. Standard vent dryers were taking 2+ hour for a load of clothes to dry, but with the ventless dryer we are averaging 30-45 minutes. We could not be happier, and hope the technology stays around forever!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from avoid Generally works well, but if you need parts expect pain. We need a simple foam filter piece replaced and are unable to so because the part simply doesn't exist for replacement. Have called the whirlpoolparts line 3 times, and received wrong part twice. Fancy, expensive dryer is useless if you can't replace parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Other review almost scared me off, but I love this Dryer!!! My friend lives in England and has raved about these, so I decided to try it out even with some scary reviews that made me nervous. I've had this dryer for 3 weeks now, and cannot believe what I've been missing out on! I've had this long vent that gets plugged every few months and drying clothes was a long process taking two cycles and a timed dry all in a row. Now I just start my dryer, and decide if I want Eco or Speed. It's dry! Imagine that a dryer that dries! Seriously though my clothes are coming out so much nicer than before I cannot believe we don't have all ventless dryers in the US. When others figure the out I'm sure ventless will take over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it We have been using our dryer now for about a month. Living in a condo we could not vent through the wall to the outside as we would not be allowed to put holes in outside walls. Also in Florida one must be concerned about openings because of risk of hurricane damage which precluded venting out a window. Drying times and efficiency are remarkably good with this dryer. I don't feel there has been any loss in either by going ventless. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ventless feature is awesome. We bought the dryer one month ago and I am very happy with the purchase. The ventless feature is great and I'll never go back to a vent dryer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from HybridCare filter is poorly made I have owned the unit for about 6 months and if it wasn't for the HybridCare filter I'd give this 5 stars and recommend it to everyone I know. The filter is flimsy and poorly made. Plus there's a charcoal type filter insert that is getting clogged up that I can't get cleaned out. I have looked everywhere on the internet for replacements and can't find anything. Lint filters are available for every make and model in existence it seems but this filter is no where. I am very very worried about what I will do when the filter finally falls apart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst dryer ever purchased Do not waste your time or money. I wish I knew then what I know now. We bought this dryer because we were building a new laundry room on our second floor and did not have a dryer vent, we thought this would be good because they are more energy efficient. We should have put a vent in the wall. The unit takes over two hours to dry a load of white wash and it heats the room it in by over 10 degrees. The units has only been used since the beginning of May and we will be getting rid of it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good dryer, horrible experience with delivery team / customer service The machine itself is working well so far. A great solution for us, as we have no way to vent a dryer on the second floor of our 140 year old brick home. The machine seems efficient, though we have only had it a short time. As others have said the hybrid filter seems flimsy and needs cleaned weekly. We had problems with two machines that were delivered but I think it was the delivery team that was at fault for not installing the door properly and breaking the hose on the back of the machine. Horrible experience with customer service, nobody wanted to take responsibility. It took over 2 months to get a working machine. We also ended up having to pay for two dryer vents, which were not needed for the ventless dryer. Tried to return them online and in store and neither would take back the vents. Hopefully others have better luck with customer service.
