Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by gas dryer The Cabrio 7.4 cu. ft. gas dryer from Whirlpool seems to be a good product. It was highly rated in Cons. Reports and did not have the features which I felt were not needed. It has the moisture sensor and enough settings to do any type of clothing a person drys. It is easy to figure out and hooked up easily. Nice three page use manual which is plenty. I have no idea how long it will last or whether problems will occur. Again according to Cons. Reports, Whirlpool has a reasonable ratio of repair problems in comparison to other manufacturers. The price I paid was $600. with free delivery and set up.It was available at this price from other retailers, but not free delivery. List price was $800. December 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The Replacement Dryer The dryer is easy to use and works reasonably well. The sensor tends to stop the dryer before waistbands, etc. are dry. "Reprogramming" the dryness level to a 3 helps, but the sensor still works on an average. October 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy BUT. The cycle alarm can't be heard from the basement to the first floor. Not nearly as good as the old one. My only problem is the end of cycle alarm cannot be heard from the basement to the first floor. Wish it had a BUZZER like my old one. August 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cabrio dryer gas We are now on our third dryer! The first one we got after two days of tying to dry clothes on every setting it never got warm! Wet clothes in wet clothes out! When I called and told them they just said we'll bring another. No questions asked. Made me think they must be use to it. Well the second one came and did the same thing. NO HEAT! We called they again said no problem, we'll bring you another one from the factory! We waited several days they brought another one and NO HEAT! Crazy! Not sure what's going to happen now! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gas dryer heaven great dryer even with small door opening. a little short next to the similar looking washer. December 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good Dryer I have had this dryer for a few months and have had NO issues. The only think i have noticed is when i have large loads in it, the cloths seem dry but when they cool down a little, you can still tell they are a bit damp, i just run the 15 minute touch up cycle and they are fine. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Drys Cloths We used this dryer one month now. It seems to dry the cloths faster then our 16 year old Frigidaire that I gave up on rather then calling in a repairman to pay $$$ to possibly replace a relay switch, motor or just tell me "Its time to buy a new one." I like the tray style glass front door and light inside this model. We always use to sit items on top of the dryer even though the manual says not to. This dryer has a sloped forward top to either keep owners from sitting things on it's top or so that short folk can better reach the back controls, like when the unit is sat on a stand for under storage and easier loading and unloading as I have done. A word on caution regarding required depth. The on-line manual says 29.5" but I needed 33.5. A purple installation tag on it recommends leaving 6.5" from the back of the units frame to the wall for proper air vent circulation. Thus, the minimum depth is 33.5. I exited on the back side with my 4" diameter exhaust pipe elbow to the left but keeping the flex-pipe below and under the pop-out back plastic vent panel. My outside wall is on the left side of the dryer and my wall exit is level with the base of the dryer. If your wall exit is higher, like the middle of the dryer you will need allowance for about a 35" depth or buy the special more compact rectangular exhaust vent. December 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good so far Seems to work great after 2 weeks. Like the large size bin and fold down door. Only complaint is sloping top (not flat) that results in clothes sliding off (dumb design). Door closure is too hard/tight to open/close and hoping this loosens up with time. February 11, 2014
