No. But if you keep your machines next to each other, and the drain and fill pipes are behind your present machines, the hoses should reach without strain, and will not affect the operation of the machine. That is how I have mine.

The manual says to remove the wash "promptly". You don't need to stand over it, but anything more than a few hours will lead to issues. Also, the manual says to leave the door open when you are done. I live in a very dry climate, so I DO shut the door after the machine stands overnight.
Open your instruction book to page 13; it should have instructions on how to maintain the machine for odor prevention. Affresh is suggested, but plain old bleach in proper amounts will do the job. Don't over-do, and DON'T run any detergent during the cleaning cycle. The book is not really clear, but the "Clean Washer with Affresh" cycle is not among the regular cycles. It is at the bottom of the dial. Turn the cycle dial until it is pointed straight down ("6 o'clock") for the cleaning cycle. Read Less

First, ask yourself these questions:
1) Are you leaving finished loads of wash in the machine for long periods before moving them to the dryer or clothes line? You shouldn't.
2) Are you using a proper HE detergent? You must.
3) Are you leaving the door of the machine opened at least a bit between laundry days? Like the instruction book says: you should. I live in a very dry climate. I keep mine open after the last load of wash is done, and let it stand open overnight. I then close the door. In two years of owning this machine I have no mold smell at all.
Now, to get rid of the smell, see page 13 of the manual. Set your machine to the "Clean Washer with Affresh" position. The pointer on the dial will be pointed straight down, or "6 o'clock position". See photo.
Then, do one of two things: put one Affresh tablet in the EMPTY tub, shut the door, and start the machine. DO NOT ADD ANY DETERGENT OR BLEACH, ONLY USE THE AFFRESH.
Alternate method: make sure the drum is empty of clothing or anything else. Set the dial to Clean Washer with Affresh as noted above. Open the dispenser drawer, and fill the bleach dispenser to the "Max" line IN BOTH THE BLEACH AND FABRIC SOFTENER dispenser wells. DON'T ADD ANYTHING ELSE. No detergent, for example. Shut the door. Start the machine.
Once this is done. follow the three guidelines I put above. Read Less

Yes, it comes with one drain hose (to drain dirty water from washer to sewer).
The 2 fill hoses for the hot and cold water are not included. The fill hoses are sold separately. You need to buy new fill hoses if you want Home Depot to install or connect the hoses when the washer is delivered.

The height on this washer says 39.75 in your specs. The coordinating dryer lists that height as 38.75. Are they really an inch different? That seems odd.

sally,
The dryer height can be adjusted to level with the washer. The washer has some adjustment as well, but not as much as the dryer. After the washer and dryer are installed and leveled, the appliances should be even in height. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

Duet 4.2 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Front Load Washer in White, ENERGY STAR is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3453.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I had a 2008 Whirlpool front load washer I just loved. The new model leaves me wishing for my older Whirlpool. Clothes get clean, but the machine is loud and sounds like a plane taking off at times during certain cycles. The detergent dispenser is cheap in it's design. I have to be careful when I pull it out to put detergent in the dispenser, it doesn't stop and comes all of the way out. The touchpad is sensitive too. All I have to do is brush up against the machine and it turns it on. Do your research. I purchased the product again because I had loved my previous washer. Some things should not be changed! Rated 5 out of 5 by from utilitarian; gets stuff clean I bought this a couple of months ago to replace another manufacturer's washer with more features and was much more expensive and had stopped working and was going to cost an exorbitant amount to repair. The Whirlpool was recommended as being more reliable and less expensive to repair if something did go wrong. This washer doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles that I would never use. It's easy to use and gets my stuff, which ranges from light synthetic athletic clothes to really grungy stuff from outdoor work, clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Washer Does not have a white cycle preset, white clothes don't get clean. Make me leery about how clean other clothes get. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for typical laundry, but... There aren't many bells and whistles on this washing machine, but I never use them anyway. It works very well for general laundry. I'm disappointed that when I washed two bathroom rugs recently (one was 3 x 5' and the other was 2' x 2'), the spin cycle didn't work as the rugs were soaking wet at the end of the Normal cycle. I even put the spin only cycle on twice and that still didn't get rid of any of the water. I had to put the rugs in my bathtub and squeeze as much water as I could by hand. It took about 4 hours to dry them in the dryer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whirlpool 4.5 front load washer I bought this whirlpool washer to replace a whirlpool washer that was only 10 years old. That said, I was not really happy buying another washer so soon. I bought it though because I was told that very few washers would fit onto my old pedestal base. The features are simple and it is easy to use. On my old washer though, I could reduce the time but cannot on this one (for example - reduce wash time to 35 min). I find it very loud, like a jet taking off. People visiting often ask me what that loud noise is? The only good thing I have found is that the clothes are spun so much that they are almost dry when they come out - reducing drying time. The clothes are clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine is quiet! I love this new front loader washer, the clothes are cleaner, there is less drying time due to the efficiency and design of this machine, especially when clothes are sorted properly. From daily washes to comforters and football pants with plastic pads this washer gets clothes clean and no more trips to the laundromat for the "big" stuff! This replaced an older top loader Whirlpool product. By drying the inner rubber seal ring after I'm done using the washer, I have had no issues with mildew build up, which is most people's complaints about a front loader. I have had this machine for 2 months and dry each after use and keep the door ajar and there have been no issues. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Date published: 2016-10-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from sensitive knobs The main knob is very sensitive and seems to beep every time I walk by. It is in a laundry room between the garage and the rest of the house. Every time I come into the house with hands full of bags, I touch the thing and it's beeping at me. Does not seem to be as insulated for sound as our last one either, can really hear the washer running from the bedroom. I use the timed delay so the clothes are washed and ready for the drier when I get up. No issues with how it works but it only a few months old. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Date published: 2016-10-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware Beware of this washer if you live in an older home. It will not spin at the highest rpm if there is any fluctuations in you home wiring. I purchased this washer about a year ago. Worked fine for about 6 months then the problem started. Had a service person look at it and was told the outlet the machine was plugged into wasn't properly grounded. This prevents the machine from going into a high rpm to wringe the water out of the clothes. Crazy. Wished I would have bought the LG washer I was looking at instead!
