We've had this washer for 3 months now and we love it. Although it is true that some of the programs seem like they take longer, it makes it up with how rung out the clothes are after the spin cycle. Another thing we do is that if the clothes aren't super dirty we'll use the quick wash setting which only goes for 30 min as opposed to 60 with standard cycles.
It is quiet and cleans the clothes well. A big upgrade from what we had before.

Upgraded to this model after 10 years with one of the original Duet machines that finally had too many things going wrong at once to make it worth repairing. Family of 6 so it served us well. The new machine has more features. Overall noise level is surprisingly similar - I expected more progress in the area of noise control in 10 years. One BIG difference to be aware of: in the older Duet machines, if debris got trapped in the drain pump filter, you could, without too much effort, remove a panel on the bottom front of the machine to access the filter and clear it out. When our kids were babies, we would sometimes find baby socks in there so it was definitely something we needed to do every once in a while. Cleaning the drain pump filter in the new machines is a MUCH bigger deal. The maintenance guide doesn't address it - it only says if you clog that filter, it may require a service call (that gives a hint as to the effort required to fix it now) - but I found a YouTube video explaining the process. The front panel is now one single piece of steel partially held in place by the top panel. You need to remove the top panel of the machine from the back side, remove the control panel, the door, then the entire front panel will come off. Only then you can access the drain pump filter, clean it out, and put everything back in reverse order. So something that could be done to the older machines in 20-30 minutes without moving it, now requires pulling the machine out and removing a lot of parts, leaving more room for mistakes and consuming a lot more time. OR, what used to be a user-serviceable issue will now require a support call. It's still a good machine overall, but this issue alone may make the price of the service agreement worthwhile for a lot of folks. Of course, maybe the new design makes clogging the filter even less likely than it was in the older models?

Great product. Remember to keep the washer door open a little while it is idle to help it stay dry and free from mildew.

Purchased this washer off the internet and it was delivered to me professionally. The intstallers were quick and started the test cycle so that we can see that the washer worked.
I like that the "normal" load setting only takes 50 minutes. The "fan dry" feature is very nice too which goes on after the wash has ended which can help in preventing your clothes from having mildue if you have to leave the house for awhile. Also the chime sounds every so often to remind you that you have a finished load in the washer, if you had forgoten to take the load out. Other features include "sanitize", "allergen", "whites", "quick wash" which are very helpful. My whites came out really clean, fresh, and white! Although not all stains were complete removed like the bottom the socks, but they were really clean!
Spin cycle removes lots of water making for drying time to be cut in half, if not almost. The inside light lights up the washing basket is very nice too. The 4.3 cubic feet capacity is great! You can wash lots of clothes and blankes. I have notice that washing with this washer is fun and effecient! Big difference in the cleanlyness of my clothes! Great buy!

I did my due diligence and after reading reviews decided on this machine. Love, LOVE, L O V E it!
I bought the washer and dryer set.
When you put the machine to work, a load of laundry can take a couple of hours. I don't mind. I do my laundry at night and let the "Air Dry" function do the work overnight. This feature will semi-dry your clothes.
When I wake up I just pop them in the dryer and have a load of fresh laundry ready in the morning.
Whirlpool lost some points with me though, when they did not include the drying rack with the dryer. How would you feel if you bought an expensive pair of sneakers and they made you pay extra for the laces?
Not good! All the competitors include the drying rack. Kind of cheap after you have paid a premium for this "Rolls Royce" of a machine!

I LOVE this washer! I've had mine for around 2 months now; no problems. It's super quiet and cleans like magic. I was given an old washer/dryer and stained a particular shirt with a red pen. Granted, the red pen will be a stain forever, but after one wash with the new washer, it came a very light red! I have noticed my clothes overall more clean. When mentioning front loaders to my friends, I was highly warned. No need to worry! My last load is always the towels, and I wipe out the rubbered area and wala!, no gunk. And as always, i let the washer dry out.
Great washer; if the price scares you, wait for a deal. We got an awesome deal on ours!

Purchased this when our first generation whirlpool duet washer broke down (after 10 years). This washer is very similar to the first generation duet, except all of the controls are electronic. I love that this one has a wash & dry cycle, which is great for that last minute sports uniform wash. This washer also has wash cycles for sanitize, towels, whites and delicates. Front load makes it easy to load and unload. This washer has great capacity, but I did notice that the manual says to leave some room for the clothes to move during the cycle. The first generation actually said you could pack it full as long as door shut easily. I think our old one would lasted longer if I had not packed so much into each load. Even with leaving extra room, the loads are very big.

I love almost everything about this washer. BUT; I've been battling a defect in the door gasket since I got my washer over a month ago. After every wash, there are sand-sized bits of rubber throughout the wash but mostly around the drum-to-door gasket connection. Repairmen have come out twice already. The first time, they blew it off, suggesting the rubber bits would decrease after a few weeks of washing, which it didn't. Now, they replaced the door gasket with a brand new one but haven't resolved the problem. Two light washes and it seemed OK. Put in a medium load of towels and we got double the usual amount of rubber. I've invested significant time, water, washer "cleanser" and effort to try and get this thing into a usable state. I feel I'll have better luck jury-rigging the 10-year old machine this was supposed to replace back into service.
