Does this dishwasher have an air dry option?

We use a lot of plastic bowls and plates (kids) how does it dry?

Asked by: Anonymous
I think this dishwasher dries well as long as you use the rinse aid product (which it tells you to do in the manual). I have tried it without and it did not dry very well without it. But, when using it, it does dry very well. The only time I see water still on the dishes is when the bottom of the dish has a convex shape to it since it goes in upside down (like tupperware)- then of course a small puddle of water will form in the dent, but I think that is standard for any dishwasher. For plates, cups, etc, they come out dry!

What is monochromatic stainless steel vs other stainless appliances

Asked by: Anonymous
Not much difference at all. Monochromatic just means the other pieces - such as the control panel are closer in color to stainless. On this model the panel is gray instead of black.

Customer Reviews

Front Control Dishwasher in Monochromatic Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 2429.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I replaced a non-functioning 40yr old KitchenAid unit with this Whirlpool. Besides being happy to have a useable dishwasher again, this one is great. Saves me lots of water over the old model and is so quiet. I like the versatility of being able to put the silverware holder in different places. Adjustable top rack is a plus also. I didn't want a unit with all the 'bells and whistles' . This one still has a lot of optional features for different sized loads. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Dishwasher For The Price Clearly, this is not the most expensive unit out there, but for the price, I am quite happy with it. It gets the dishes clean and looks good. I was surprised that it was as quiet as it was for a 50dec. machine. the only little quirk is that the door doesn't lay flat when you open the dishwasher. It comes back up some when you let it go. Minor thing for me considering the price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It has to be the worst dishwasher on the planet. The dishes are always dirty. They are always wet. And the cheap plastic liner grows mold around the openings. I have owned many different models of dishwashers over the past 50 years. This one has to be the worst, ever. Do not buy this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! This dishwasher was installed in our home prior to moving in and we absolutely love it! I LOVE that it has the lock feature, which keeps my 2 year old from cutting the dishwasher off and on while it is in mid-cycle. Its also very quiet, so quiet that most times I forget it is running. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Many nice features for the price There are a lot of nice features on this model, e.g. auto soil sensor, 5 wash cycles including overnight and eco-wash cycles, direct feed wash system, large capacity, and others. It has everything I need in a dishwasher. The only thing I'm not sure about is the filter system it has instead of a food disposer; I hope I don't have to clean it out more than every couple of months, not that it looks difficult, I'm just lazy. I installed it myself and that was fairly easy; although I don't like the hose-type inlet water fitting on the machine which made it difficult to attach the water hose without having it leak. The user instructions that came with it don't seem to be the right ones as they don't cover all of the cycles, etc. and is different than the one that you can download on line. Not a big deal but it's odd. It seems to clean very well and is quiet; you can hardly hear the pump running. It's appears to be a good value for the price and I like it very well so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cleans well. Quiet. Silverware holder inadequate. Our "good" rating assumes you have checked that your silverware will fit in the holder (see comments below). The dishwasher seems solid and well constructed. Even with the energy saving features it cleans very well. The cycle time is somewhat longer than our previous washer, but this is not a problem for us. The unit is extremely quiet, which is nice. The dry feature works well, but we found we could skip it and let the dishes air dry with the door opened a small amount. An issue we are still coping with is the generic, equally spaced tines in the racks. There is little flexibility in the way to arrange dishes. The upper rack has room for one row of bowls in the center with glasses and mugs on the sides. The bottom rack can only hold one row of dinner dishes in the central area. There is no good place for large casserole dishes and pans. If you place them at the back, the dinner dishes are pushed forward making it impossible to load anything other than very small dishes in front of them. Some of the higher priced models have more flexible rack setups that would probably resolve this. The big disappointment is the silverware holder, which is nearly useless for us, as the slots are too narrow in two of the three rows to hold our very average sized silverware. If we hadn't saved the holder from our previous dishwasher (and been fortunate enough that it fit in the rack of this one), this purchase would have been a disaster. Be sure you check for this problem before purchasing this model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not happy with this model. I love whirlpool products and have always been happy until I bought this unit. The silverware basket located on the inside of the door is not convenient at all and I end up leaving it out until ready to run or inside the bottome basket. My silverware does not fit in the predesigned holes. My handles are to big and so I have to leave the lids open. The soap dispenset actually blocks a portion of the silverware holder on the left side. My dishes come out pretty wet even using the heat dry option. The glasses sit very flat on the top rack and it does not allow the water to run off the bottom and they are always left with puddles. I would not buy this unit again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just what I wanted My local retailer suggested this model when I told him what I was looking for: something that will last and not break down in a few years (as my last three had), the best dishwasher manufacturer he could recommend, lots of room, not wanting a lot of complicated features (like my last one from a different manufacturer which was expensive but didn't last more than a year and a half#, not expensive and for frequent use. Then I checked out other models at a big appliance store and read everything from consumer reports to individual reviews and I came up with the same model. So far so good. It is much quieter and we can barely hear it outside of the kitchen. It dries everything better, even plastics and everything comes out clean. The only criticisms I have are that sometimes it is hard to tell what is lit up due to the color and hue of the lights on the right, like when it is brightest on washing, it lights up drying too a little. The gray color of the tub and racks make them hard to see #maybe I need new glasses) and the anywhere silverware rack is hard to put in and take out from it's space on the door. If I put anything but a teaspoon on the left and I lift out the rack, it gets caught on the detergent dispenser. And sometimes the rack comes apart and I have to snap it back into place.
