Answer:
debbie,
As long as you can open the doors to 90 degrees, then you will be able to access the interior drawers. If you added a couple of inches to accommodate the clearance of the door handle, then you will be okay. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

How do I get the left door to shut easily like the right one? Is the plastic 'stop' on the hinge removable to correct this problem?

Answer:
The plastic stop is used to create a full seal when the doors are closed so it wouldn't be advisable to remove this piece but it actually closes just as clean as the right door after a little while... We don't notice an inconvenience having it there. Before purchasing it, I wondered if the doors would need to be shut in order (left first - then right). We have the same problem with our newly bought Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. If you don't check that the left door is shutt, it is often open. What can we do?

Answer:
The French doors are designed this way to provide a tight seal and not let the cold air out. This is a necessary item that allows for consistent temperature management and your fresh food to stay as fresh as long as possible. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

The 26.8 cu ft is the accurate cu ft now. The federal government as of September 2014 required a new way to measure the cu ft of refrigerators. This new measurement has caused the cu ft to drop. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DONT BUY WHIRPOOL TUBBERWARE NOT GOLD I purchased and paid at least $3500 for the White Ice WHIRPOOL Kitchen Appliances early of 2014 and now every appliance has an issue. WHIRLPOOL TUBBERWARE NOT GOLD The refrigerator is the biggest headache. First issue was the cheap hoses they use for the water line the plastic cracked and had a slow water leak that didn't become discovered til almost the one year warranty was up. I had baseboard damage and didn't complain because I just wanted my fridge fixed. BIG MISTAKE. Next was the ice maker freezes up. Which was fixed but looks nasty. Now I have another water issue. Not sure where the water was coming from, I thought maybe the FIFTY DOLLAR ($50) WATER FILTER that you have to purchase every six months. Now dripping from right corner and water filter line. My drip cup fills up daily but the corner leak can not be controlled. That one leaks all the way to bottom tray and ruins all your food. Along with my frustration with the fridge I wake up to find my microwave door is cracking. And the stainless steel dishwasher I spent extra money for so it won't rust, it's rusting. Also the top rack always falls off track. No warranty left and not sure if I want to dish out more money on a pieces of junk. It's like getting a face lift when you are 90 years old... Is it really worth it. Great right... SO PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE APPLIANCES. Also I have nothing against Home Depot. They are one of my favorite stores ranked right next to Costco. They are great and have excellent customer service. I purchased LG washer and dryer the same time I purchased kitchen appliances and not one problem. I think they should think twice about selling poor quality of appliances to their customers. December 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by There are no regrets at all!! I was looking to replace my old refrigerator with a stylish and efficient one - but, most of all quiet. And I am happy that I select this one. I saw reviews online that it was too noisy, but that is not true - at least not with mine. I really enjoy the water dispense feature, which allow me to do something else while filling up a glass of water. August 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice refrigerator, to loud. Refrigerator was delivered 1 week ago. Like the overall design and features, but couldn't hear our TV in the family room over the compressor noise. Home depot is taking it back, with a $300 restocking fee, because we waited a week to arrange the return. Could have a Whirlpool send out a technician, but pretty sure this is a design problem and not correctable, and if we go over the 30 day point HD won't take it back. Lessons learned. 1) Have them turn on the compressor in the store and listen to it before you buy. If you can hear it in a noisy store, think how loud it will be in a quiet house. 2) If you aren't happy day one after they deliver it, return it, but don't wait until day 3. March 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Same problem as others After 8 months we are running into the same problem as others “the ice accumulating behind the ice maker” the service guy said that is a manufacturing defect but after he replaced all the parts in the upper part of the unit the ice accumulating seems fixed but now I have more problem before the refrigerator not cooling sometime, NOSIE (this is a very annoying in a quiet house sound like a train running in your kitchen), moister around the door etc.. Whirlpool support and the local service guy is not helping they all said this is normal but come on my 20 years old refrigerator run quiet than this. BUYER BEWARES. May 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Appliance life expectancy less than 20 months!! NEVER, EVER AGAIN !!! Evidently Whirlpool thinks that less than 20 months of use is ACCEPTABLE for this appliance! Plugged it in in April 2013, was told today Jan. 21,2015, condenser is shot, will cost $1000 to fix and I should just buy a new one because he has seen this problem often in Whirlpool refrigerators! This IS NOT the Whirlpool we grew up with! Was told by Whirlpool "given its AGE there's nothing they can do to help" REALLY?? And to think I purchased the stove, dishwasher AND microwave all from the same line! I did all the research, carefully read all these customer reviews and chose to ignore the few who were dissatisfied...BIG mistake! I BEG you, look elsewhere or buy a 10 YEAR protection plan, if they have one, because you're going to need it! January 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You've been warned Had the fridge installed a few days ago, 3/31/2015, immediately noticed a very high pitch noise. It's not a loud trembling noise, but it's extremely annoying. I'm in my office approximately 50 feet from the fridge and can hear it, so something is wrong with the fridge or it's a model design issue. Funny enough I replaced a 15 year old whirlpool, couldn't even tell if it was running it was so quiet, with this "updated" fridge. Pretty pathetic that I wish I had my ugly, broken water dispenser model back. I believe whirlpool has other great appliances, it amazes me they might sell a defective model for a few extra bucks at the expense of turning off customers to the brand. I've scheduled a service call with Whirlpool to get the noise checked out, I'll post what the tech has to say, should be interesting. April 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality American Made Product Bought this fridge after junking a French door Samsung that was only used for 2 years and out of warranty. I was not happy about having to buy a new fridge but I am extremely happy with my new Whirlpool! It has way more space than the Samsung and one of the reasons is having the ice maker in the door instead of taking up so much space in the cabinet. It doesn't hold a lot of ice but if I really need a lot of ice, I'll just buy a bag from the store. The fridge is slightly louder than I would prefer but it's not unreasonable. The exterior resists smudges and is very easy to clean. I am very satisfied with this fridge. November 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy this fridge! In the first year (before the warranty ran out) we had the repairman in: - Once to fix water leaking under the fridge, which damaged our brand new wood floor & baseboards. This is a known issue with these fridges. - Once to replace the ice maker (motor died). - Once to fix cooling problems. Apparently you cannot put items near the vent on the top shelf - so bank on only using half the shelf if you want your fridge to cool properly. - Twice to repair the lid on the crisper (falls off when opened). This issue is still not resolved and the warranty is up. We can't even use the lid. - 3x to repair the freezer handle that pulled off when opening the freezer. In addition to these problems, the shelves break very, very easily and we have had to replace 2 already. I would never recommend this fridge to anyone. Worst appliance I have ever used. I am going back to Frigidaire - much better products by far! May 20, 2015
