Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eightoff Great cooktop
The cooktop operates and heats much like a free standing range. This cooktop heats up very quickly and cools down quickly. The white has more visible stains from pots and spills than the traditional colors. The low profile of the insert allowed me to have a usable drawer under the cooktop. Matches great with the white ice appliances.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sammy Don't purchase this cooktop from Whirlpool
This cooktop was installed two years ago. Since then two of the plastic knobs have broke. The Home Depot Warranty doesn't cover the knobs for replacement even though we took the warranty for five years. Whirlpool also doesn't cover any parts after one year. Seems like it should be a small item. However, the stainless steel knob to replace is $25.99 a piece. If you choose to go with black knob the price is $20.99. The stove is pretty useless if the knobs don't work. The replacement knobs are also in plastic. Don't order a Whirlpool appliance. We have had two major appliances from Whirlpool and both have been trouble. We also won't be taking any more warranties from Home Depot. They seem to be worthless. We purchased five major appliances from Home Depot at the time. Doesn't matter. The sale is over.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tanker2 Nice but could be better
Ok this was a cook top replacement for my mother house. The stove works fine once installed but is was not simple to install. I consider myself an advanced homeowner so with the proper equipment it took about two hours to install. There are a few gotcha.
1. the top doesn't fit properly. let me explain. When replacing a cook top you would think that the standard hole that was used for the existing cook top would fit. Nope I had to cut an additional 1/2 inch to get the range top in place. Be careful as you may need to cut into the base cabinet (which I did) in order to make it fit. Once the range is final put in place the metal edge on the cook top makes it sit up about an 1/8 of an inch. So you need caulk to fill the gap. Hmm!!! better design needed here
2. Now the original top was a three wire setup and the new cook top requires four wire. just make sure you read the instructions carefully and label the wires on the old stove before removing them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pablito Nice looking...
Like a previous reviewer, I too like the simmer function. Didn't think I would use it very much but turns out I use it all the time. It is so easy to just flip the simmer switch once something has come to a boil and it keeps it at a perfect simmer level. The oversize burner in the front comes in handy once in a while but the regular size seems to take care of 90% of our needs. I also like the way it heats up very quickly - much faster than my old cast iron burners that this replaced.

Bought whirlpool cook top and the burner went out 18 months later. There is only a one year warranty. My burner is $122 + labor. Other manufacturers offer longer warranties and it is well worth finding one before you buy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HandyAl Whrilpool Stove top is beautiful but hard to keep clean
Delivery was reasonably fast. It heats up rapidly and cooks faster than the Big Name it replaced. I shopped in stores and on line, spent a lot of time deciding on Wattage, burner layout, etc. Never considered counter drop in measurements so because it was larger, it was difficult to install but we are very pleased and satisfied with it now.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GK74 A very good cooktop that works very well for the price.
The cooktop works very well. The simmer feature is a nice addition and the dual elements allow the flexibility of more pan sizes. The top is, however, very difficult to keep clean as every smear needs work to get off. You need a microfiber cloth and cooktop surface cleaner to keep it looking new
