Dryer won't start after putting money in. Have to manually reset coin op timer switch.

This has happened multiple times. The first time it happened the dryer stopped working before cycle completed. Checked circuit breakers and power connections. Had to manually reset the coin op timer switch for dryer to work again. Each time this happens I have to manually reset the timer switch. Seems to be happening more and more frequently. Dryer only 7 mos old.

Had exact same problem after 4 months of ownership. Must be a design flaw, and only a 90 day warranty on labor? This is being used in a 5 unit apartment building. Should work longer than 4 months when new. What a joke, wont be buying whirlpool commercial again.

The dryer starts without putting any coin and won't stop. How can I deal with it?

The delivery guys installed it but couldn't solve this problem. Push start button without putting any coin and it starts which mean anyone can use this dryer for free.
Asked by: Gordon
Probable bad coin slide kit or a switch

Few months ago, I purchased few of these dryers for several apartment buildings, few are working so, so. the last two have a common trouble, many times the Coin Slide Unit takes the money and doe's not send the signal to the machine to dry. This is becoming worse and worse, Many buyers of this product are facing the same trouble, "it is time for Home Depot as a supplier for Whirlpool" to place pressure with the manufacturer to correct this "Common trouble" at their cost. They have a failure switch that need to be replace very frequently, that is not right. Whirlpool correct your problem, I will change my 1 star to 5

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware I purchased two sets of the commercial Whirlpool washers and dryers in April 2014. By May 2014 one dryer was not working. Sounds like an easy fix with the manufactures warranty? Wrong!!!!! Whirlpool has horrible customer service. I will never buy their products ever again. It's almost June and my dryer is still not fixed. I cannot tell you the amount of phone calls and emails I have made attempting to get Whirlpool to answer questions and provide information. The way they treat people and the quality of their products will force them out of business. It is just a matter of time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product NEVER WORKED, even after 4 service calls. Upon delivery, the dryer did nothing. Warranty service came out, ordered parts, then the motor turned the drum, but NO HEAT. The 4th time a repairman came, he said that it needed another part replaced, so I told him that I was returning the dryer, as it seemed to be a LEMON.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coin slot defective Could be a decent machine, but here are the problems with my experience: 1. Installers didn't know how to change price, I had to figure out on my own following terrible instructions and it is not intuitive at all. 2. The coin slot mechanism does not work properly. You can slide it in and start the machine without putting any quarters in it...defeats the purpose of a coin op. 3. Once I did figure out how to change the price, it did not come with the right parts to do so, it only had enough additional inserts to increase the price to a max 1.50 when there are enough quarter slots to increase it to 2.00. 4. I didn't notice at delivery but the machine has a large dent on the side. I called Home Depot because I did get the protection plan, but they just referred me to whirlpool who of course is only open M-F. Guess I'm on my own to try and fix the defective machine I was sold!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well but washer last two days, lid switch bad and board bad do not purchas. I purchased both a washer and dryer from Home Depot , on line , for my commercial laundry mat. The dryer so far after a weeks operation, works well. The washer shut down after the first two loads with all the lights lit up on the panel. I booted the electronics by unplugging several times and the washer worked for another day and again all the lights lit up and this time booting did not work. I contacted Whirlpool and was told that they new of the problem and that they would have some one out to repair it two weeks later. I begged the repair company and they came out three days later and after testing found the lid switch and the control board bad. and said that they would have to order parts, I have no washer and it is costing me money. Byer beware not a good product and slow warranty work.
