Machines just aren't made like they used to be. Dryer is commercial coin-op machine. It is on the flimsy side vs firmly constructed due to the cheaper metal used to make it. The paint job seems weak and I hope it holds up to the multiple use it will receive. Just because we've experienced this cheaper paint quality in the past, we are putting a heavy plastic film on the top so it doesn't receive scratches and rust so soon. We have coin-op machines from 20 years ago that look better than some of the machines we just purchased a year ago - that's quality. Other than the flimsy metal and quality of paint, the machine serves the purpose in the apartment complex.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kk Coin slot defective
Could be a decent machine, but here are the problems with my experience:
1. Installers didn't know how to change price, I had to figure out on my own following terrible instructions and it is not intuitive at all.
2. The coin slot mechanism does not work properly. You can slide it in and start the machine without putting any quarters in it...defeats the purpose of a coin op.
3. Once I did figure out how to change the price, it did not come with the right parts to do so, it only had enough additional inserts to increase the price to a max 1.50 when there are enough quarter slots to increase it to 2.00.
4. I didn't notice at delivery but the machine has a large dent on the side.
I called Home Depot because I did get the protection plan, but they just referred me to whirlpool who of course is only open M-F. Guess I'm on my own to try and fix the defective machine I was sold!

I purchased two sets of the commercial Whirlpool washers and dryers in April 2014. By May 2014 one dryer was not working. Sounds like an easy fix with the manufactures warranty? Wrong!!!!! Whirlpool has horrible customer service. I will never buy their products ever again. It's almost June and my dryer is still not fixed. I cannot tell you the amount of phone calls and emails I have made attempting to get Whirlpool to answer questions and provide information. The way they treat people and the quality of their products will force them out of business. It is just a matter of time!

Whirlpool make a totally garbage products. I owned multiple hotels. And we had whirlpool almost all hotels for Guest laundry. But i bought 2 recently and both broke in a month, tech's 3 visit could not fixed it. They are not even coming on time. Now they dont want to replace it or refund. Totally garbage machines. Funny thing was, tech was asking us to pay. i mean its brand new machine and 1 month old. and whirlpool customer service is superbly awful.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rick works well but washer last two days, lid switch bad and board bad do not purchas.
I purchased both a washer and dryer from Home Depot , on line , for my commercial laundry mat. The dryer so far after a weeks operation, works well. The washer shut down after the first two loads with all the lights lit up on the panel. I booted the electronics by unplugging several times and the washer worked for another day and again all the lights lit up and this time booting did not work. I contacted Whirlpool and was told that they new of the problem and that they would have some one out to repair it two weeks later. I begged the repair company and they came out three days later and after testing found the lid switch and the control board bad. and said that they would have to order parts, I have no washer and it is costing me money. Byer beware not a good product and slow warranty work.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Julies Worst dryer ever
Purchased this dryer in December 2013. I was deliver not working. Home Depot sent a repairman to fix the dryer. Home Depot was good in their assistance to fix the dryer. The repair man said the factory forgot to install the timer. It made me question Whirlpools quality control. Does Whirlpool test their products before they leave the factory?
Anyway, the dryer again broke in October 2014 due to faulty timer and change operator. This time I had to deal with Whirlpool directly. Whirlpool send out a repair man 4 separate times since October 2014 and our dryer is still not working. Whirlpool customer service was very time consuming to deal with. I had to spend endless hour on the phone to try to get to fix the dryer, which they never did. Whirlpool said they are not going to pay to service the dryer anymore. So basically we are out of luck. We purchase this dryer for a rental house with 3 people living in the house, so only gets residential use. This is suppose to be a commercial grade dryer but it did not even last a year. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again- poor product quality, poor customer service.
