Customer Questions & Answers

if I purchase this in the store can they cut to size

I need 16 x 20
Asked by: llgeer
Yes, as long as your local Home Depot has a panel saw. I don't know of one in San Diego or Orange County that doesn't have one. Call ahead to make sure that it's operating (only certain employees can use them).

Would this work in the garage? How do you attach it to the wall?
Asked by: Pam
Most people buy some 1X2 lumber, cut to size and attach with wood screws to the back around the boarder. This will give a 1 inch space so you can attach the hooks to the peg board. If you simply attach to the wall there is not enough space for the accessories.

Do you have to use tools to mount it? Is there a glue I can use to stick it to the wall it's only going to hold light things in the kitchen? It's for that blank white space above the washer
Asked by: Steph
you will need some 1x2 wood behind it so there is space for hooks/ accessories. I would recommend screwing it to the wall but if you have tile, maybe liquid nails would work

It's definitely light-duty. As long as you don't want to hang anything heavy on it, it'll work fine. For the price, it's a good deal. But, if you want to hang any substantial items on it, go with something thicker, which unfortunately Home Depot doesn't seem to carry anymore. I've had several pegs pull out through the pressboard.

However, if you want it to last, especially in highly humid southern states, I'd recommend that you build a frame in the back to attach it to so that over time it doesn't sag and deteriorate from heavy use. It's great if you plan on using it for lighter weight items, but for hanging heavy tools it will show some wear over time and may not function as you'd like. I have mine framed-out in order to last longer. Love the space savings I get from it hanging on the wall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good quality, great value After searching through probably 30 panels at the store to find 6 that were cut square, I am very happy with this product. These are easy to install and do what they're supposed to. They're durable enough for most applications...unless you plan on hanging a few hundred pounds from one of these, you should be fine. I flipped mine backwards so the brown is exposed instead of the white (preference), and I had to cut holes in two of them so I could access the electrical outlets they were covering, which was very easy to do when they were mounted with a Dremel. Overall I'm pleased with these, especially for under $8/per. However, as I mentioned, there were a lot of these in the store that weren't cut square, so at the top left the mounting holes were compete, while the top right mounting holes had been cut through the middle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good quality bpard for the price I bought 2 of these for garage organization. So far so good. It seems like a great product for the price. I built a frame to mount them on using 2x3's and have had no problems.
