This Thermostat has a good size display screen, which is why I wanted to use it at my elder mother's home. It was a bit tricky to install, but the phone number to customer service came in very handy. They were helpful and knowledgeable. The instructions are very clear how to program (though a little confusing at first),and the copying feature makes it pretty easy to complete the 7-day schedule. I also like the hold feature that allows me to increase or decrease temperatures for a period of time. This is a good, simple digital thermostat, but for me the most important feature is the display screen and that is great.

Works great. Not 5-1-1, but 5-2 is fine for me. Very easy to wire.

I absolutely love this thermostat. The installation directions are easy to follow as are the programming instructions. This thermostat has a cut and paste button so you can easily program multiple days. The large and bright display makes this very easy to operate. There are also favorite buttons on the front that make this a very convenient and user friendly thermostat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Palaranda Doesn't get much better than this
Ten years ago I changed our very old gas furnace for a new single steam heating one but didn’t get around to changing the old `Part Choice` thermostat as I was convinced by the installer that it would suite my needs better than some of the new ones available. But ten years later it was getting very grubby and taking the cover off I could see a ton of cobwebs in and around the coiled spring. Time for an upgrade.
There were only two wires that came out of the wall and neither was labeled or indeed there were no marking whatsoever. Then I noticed a very faded red stripe mark on one of the wires. Connected that to R and the other to W, put the cover back on, turned the power back on to the furnace and all was good.
Very easy to program following the excellent supplied instructions. All settings can be customized to suite your own preference including a useful copy and paste.
After setting up the program to my preference, I then turned the programing off just to see if the settings would still be available and then turned the programming back on and was happy to see that all my settings were still logged in.
So what do I like about this thermostat?
Easy to set up. Excellent manual. Large illuminated information on the screen. Hidden side door (to make or change the settings). Home, away and sleep modes. The as is now on screen temperature plus the temp that is required and the easy way to change preferred temperature. Easy change of batteries. Very well designed and extremely user friendly. Excellent customer care.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pete Bright, easy to read, easy to use thermostat
I just installed this last night. It literally took me all of about 10 mins. I wanted a different thermostat because in order to read our old one I had to turn on a spotlight and get out a magnifying glass to read things like the presets or the temperature. That is no longer the case. With this I can clearly read all the pertinent information without having to squint or fire up the stadium lights. The actual temperature is displayed at a whopping 1"x1". This may not sound like much but it is quite large for an electronic display. The other information, time, current temp setting, is easily read as well. If the lights are off all I have to do is hit any of the buttons and it lights up like a Christmas tree. It cones with all the necessary hardware and instructions for an easy set up. It is fully customizable to program any way you see fit. The three "short cut" buttons may come in handy once I have done all the programming. It seems to be pretty user friendly as far as the programming goes. I will no longer have to deal with not being able to read my thermostat while stumbling around at 4 in the morning on my way out the door

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sidpad Excellent propduct
I had this installed by my technician during the bi-annual maintenance visit. it was a breeze but more importantly is a definite upgrade to my earlier Honeywell digital display. Firstly the display is big, it has schedules witth easy features like copy past and most important supports two stage heating.

The packaging was well laid out & quite informative for the in-store buyer. The package contains the thermostat, mounting hardware and instructions. Two (2) AA batteries are required; not included.
As the package describes, replacement of an existing (or new), thermostat can be done in 4 basic steps (+1):
1) Turn off power, remove old thermostat cover and label wires (assuming thermostat replacement, not new)
2) Remove old thermostat
3. Connect wires and new wallplate
4) Attach new thermostat
See attached images for terminal identification & compatibility. The display is large and the buttons easy to operate (large too). Setup & operation is fairly basic for those transitioning from a "standard" thermostat to digital/programmable one. I found the faceplate to be quite difficult to remove in an effort to install/replace the (2) AA batteries. Internal switches for gas vs. electric application.
For the value, I felt this thermostat was average to alightly above average - a good transition for those going from a non-digital display to digital, but not to the level of bluetooth/touch screen. Not overly "stylish" or compact for that matter, but it functions as it should.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by blackfrog99 Not the best programmable t-stat!!!
If you are looking for a good programmable t-stat, this is on the low end of that market. I tested it on a work bench and found several things that can be a problem. Right out of the box, the screen was cracked. I dont know if this was a shipping problem, but they way it was shipped makes me think not. The install was pretty straight forward, unless you are an average homeowner trying to do it yourself. This is a functional product, but there are much easier versions on the market
