The not-so-average diy'er would not be able to figure out: 1. What a "T" connector is that is listed on the confusing installation instructions unless your're a seasoned plumber. 2. What size "T" you need and how to reduce one end from 3/8" to 1/4". 3. What a compression tee is in the first place. I'm no seasoned plumber. It took me a couple hours of fiddling with it and countless internet searches to find out that I had to merge 2 lines into one using the tee. I don't know anyone here in California that uses a chiller. Now I have to take the diagram to the big box building supply store and hope someone in plumbing actually knows what I need, which is always a scary task. Reading other reviews now I'm leary of the connections at the faucet coming loose since I handled the hoses so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a good-quality dispenser! After replacing two previous dispensers that dripped after a very short time and were not repairable, it was a relief to find one that has worked well so far and that I expect will last a long time. I was able to connect it to my existing Ever Hot water heater with no problems. The valves have a solid feel and are easy to operate. Plus it looks like it can be repaired if needed in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pain to install An attractive, well made faucet but installing it is a real pain. The faucet is designed to work with a hot water tank, cold water from a filter, and chilled water from a chiller. If you're not using a chiller, which is likely the common case, you have to "T" the cold and chiller lines together and connect to the cold/filter supply. But they don't give you the T. So you have to cobble together an assortment of fittings and also reduce from 3/8" to 1/4". The 3/8" to 1/4" reduction is because the faucet supply lines are 3/8" compression. From what I've seen, all filter systems use 1/4" lines. I found a 3/8 compression T with a 1/4" output. That allowed me to connect the faucet supply lines to 3/8" copper, then the copper to the T, then the1/4" output to 1/4" copper, then to a 1/4" T into my water filter line. So the 3/8" copper would turn to go into the 3/8" T, used 90 degree solder ells. Hooked it all up and there were leaks every where. As I worked to tighten all these compression fittings, I saw water coming from the top where the supply lines go into the faucet bottom (way up there in the unreachable area behind the sink bowl). Apparently my tightening the compression fittings caused the braided supply lines to turn and unscrew themselves from the faucet base. Luckily, I was able to re tighten them by cranking the lines from the bottom end and they stopped leaking. Before I installed the faucet, I didn't notice that the supply lines could be screwed in/out, but apparently so. So, I believe this product could be much better by providing a better way to eliminate the chiller line or providing the T connecting parts, making the supply lines tight or providing some instructions to advise about making sure they are tight before setting the faucet in. Use 1/4" supply lines for the cold. Also, If you install one of these, especially with a hot water tank, you need to check it frequently. The hot water line is typically prone to failure. This one uses a Santoprene line, so it may be OK. Two years from now will tell... Dave
