Our plumber installed this about two months ago, but from day one we hear a water trickling sound if even one ounce of liquid is added. What is causing this problem?

Answer:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your Whitehaus purchase! The trickling sound that you hear is normal. What is happening is excess liquid in the bowl is applying pressure to the drain. This pressure is causing the water to be displaced from the bowl into a narrow overflow tube. This is the trickling noise that you are hearing. This is common with most dual flush gravity fed toilets.

Is the seat a plastic seat or enameled wood? Also is the flushing mechanism a standard mechanism that can be replaced with one purchased at the store or is a special mechanism required only from Whitehaus?

Thank you for your interest in Whitehaus Collection! This toilet comes with a plastic slow close seat. This slow close seat will eliminate the loud slamming noise when a seat is dropped. The flushing mechanism is not standard and if needed Whitehaus does provide a parts dept that can quickly get one out to you if need be.
Hope this helps!
Thank you,

Hi Surfsup, the seat on this toilet is plastic. The flushing mechanism is awesome, however you would have to order it at the store if you needed a replacement.
The flushing mechanism is not a stock item.

Answer:
WhitehausProductExpert: any chance you could provide a link or an image of the test result? The MaP site may be broken, but it doesn't mention a flush test score for this toilet. It's certified as WaterSense, but doesn't show any numerical score... (this is from map-testing.com--maybe there's a different website I should visit?)

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BAD Purchase Leaked from day one. Adjusted as best I could. No instructions, no correct diagram. Now it runs all the time and have to turn it off at the wall after each use. For weeks have been in contact with manufacture with no success. They are trying to locate directions and or parts ? Parts can not be purchased anywhere but manufacturer, but there is no parts list, no where to order. NO instructions on adjusting or removing and installing. Nightmare. Perhaps it may be an easy fix, but manufacture is still researching. Where do they have to go to get instructions and parts ? Strange. September 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY!!!! POOR QUALITY , BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE 1. it is not easy to install. 2. flush system and seat cover are not standard which mean you cant get a third party replacement. The seat is not comfort at all. 3. the flush system start leaking after 1 year. Call customer support, they asked me to pay for a replacement valve. Really??? what reliability mean to your company? August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase! When you only have 1 bathroom, the toilet must be able to flush almost anything without stopping up especially if you have company. We purchased the dual flush also which greatly helps our water and septic system. This is a must also for any septic system. This baby handles everything so well we are confidant in hiding the plunger out of our small bathroom. Also great for using the "courtesy flush" we need in a small house. Easy to install but reviews make it seem harder. It's a little different but nothing an average homeowner can't handle. It's also a one piece to eliminate any tank leakage. Fits exactly to our old toilet fitting snug against the wall. I have total confidence in telling you that you can install this easily in a couple of hours which was very important with only one toilet and three girls. August 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking toilet Really like the look of this toilet. Very easy to clean as well. The guys had a bit of a time installing it, as it was a little different I guess. Ended up great though. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great toilet Awesome toilet was a little worried about installing after reading some review but it was simple put two in in less than an hour April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty toilet?! Yup! Everyone comments on what a nice looking toilet this is! I am happy with the ease of cleaning ! This toilet has a different feel, the seat is contoured (?), I actually like it, it just feels strange at first. One other thing, not sure if it is something we did with setup or they all do this, but when you "use" it, ( sorry, but this a toilet review!) the water sounds as if it is trickling in the tank, not sure what that is? But overall love our new toilet. Oops, almost forgot the best part, the soft close lid! No more slam in the middle of the night! February 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product, it's been working great since install 2 months ago. We liked the sleek sides and top of this toilet. The self closing seat is also really nice. Works every time on the smaller flush. Really easy to clean. Shipped to my local Home Depot in a few days. Install...definitely more time consuming than other toilets but the sleek sides require a few extra pieces screwed to the floor. Just remember that you may have to drill through tile. This toilet is worth the extra work and is $100 to $200 cheaper at Home Depot. November 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Recent purchase First toilet arrived cracked, recommend you check it before you leave the store. Heavy item had to be returned to store and we had to wait another 6 days for replacement. Homedepot gave us 15% off for inconvenience. Difficult to install but my contractor got there in the end. Downside - its does not totally flush under the rim of the toilet and you need to brush under there to clean it. I'm not impressed with that at all. Upside - looks great and gets many compliments. Because of flushing issue I would not buy again or recommend to a friend. November 22, 2015
