Answer:
Hello! The shelves are not adjustable on this unit. Five wire shelves provide a convenient location to store folded garments; such as sweaters or jeans, as well as shoes, hats, and handbags. Equipped with two garment rods, use both to maximize hanging space OR remove the bottom rod to accommodate longer dresses and coats.

Rated 1.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A Waster of Time and Money This is a complete waste of money. It is not sturdy, it will not handle adult sized clothes due to height restriction between the upper and lower hanging poles. And it you did hang adult sized clothes one would quickly exceed the limited weight restrictions. This might be good for children's or infant clothing. Spend a little bit extra and buy something more sturdy and functional, otherwise you will be kicking this to the curb in due time. December 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution for room without closet! I bought this unit almost 3 years ago and it's still standing strong. I have it loaded with clothes. The unit is usually holding 20+ pairs of jeans and 15+ sweatshirts which really add weight. It also holds numerous other items of clothing. It did not come with instructions but it wasn't hard to figure out. Super easy assembly, a child could figure it out. It baffles me that others are saying its junk. July 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Good At All I bought this and put it together quite easily but the plastic metal combo broke and fell apart after a couple of days of weight put on it. I definitely do not recommend this for lots or clothes or long time use. June 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Total waste of money The biggest problem with this is that it just wedges together. Sure no tools are needed, but nothing locks in place either. After I assembled it (which took a long time b/c I'd get one side done, work on the other side and the first side would all pop apart. It is like tinker toys!) and hung clothes on it, it collapsed in about two hours. Some plastic pieces broke. If you glue all connection points together it might work. Not worth the effort. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by terrible, don't waste your time Terribly flimsy! No directions on how to assemble, you can tell from the photos, but there are certain connectors that need to be used in specific places {to hold the rods, shelves}, and that is not explained. Don't waste your time. I've been working on it for an hour plus and finally decided it was way to flimsy, so why bother going back to rebuild it a 3rd time? January 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Missing half the peices... Not just one or two. Twelve. A pain to bring back. Reordered from another store. The part I did assemble was easy though. August 5, 2013
