It is ok. It blows cold air and fits vertically. It takes several hours to reduce the temps in my living room / dining room combo. I took a photo but this system is not letting me post it

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terry A very nice Air Conditioner
This air conditioner performs well. Last year I purchased another brand a/c identical in it's specifications and performance but that well known brand performed poorly in comparison to this unit. The main problem with the other air conditioner was that it was very noisy and it's cooling ability dropped off over time. I contacted Customer Service with the "noise" problem and was told that "if the problem didn't affect the devices performance they could not send a Service Tech". So I sold it. This Whynter 14000 btu system performs well. It cools my entire 500 sq. ft. area quickly and is quiet and the installation was very easy. To be honest the quality and design could stand a little upgrading but overall this is a very nice system for the money.

We need this to cool a loft area. It does that. The hoses are an eyesore. The noise level is OK as it is not a sleeping area. Some say that they could sleep thru the noise that it creates, not me. We do not have a moisture issue so don't expect there to be much draining the condensate pan if there is one. Tough decision between this and a window unit as far as efficiency vs sound and looks, we didn't have a choice. The hose panel for the window is not long enough for a patio door. We had a piece of wood cut to cover the additional space. Easy to install - had it ready to run in a few minutes although we didn't run it for a day per the instructions (4 hours).

I have to say I'm fairly disappointed with the cooling ability of this product. I switched to a portable AC since we have new windows, and a window AC seemed more problematic to install. Although the set-up on this AC was straight-forward, it simply does not seem to be powerful by comparison to my former 10,000 BTU window AC. I expected superior cooling, as it is 14,000 BTU, but it simply isn't the case. Although it cools the room somewhat, it only does so by setting the thermostat at the lowest possible temperature of 61F. If I could do so easily, I would return it, but after 2 weeks of trying to get my home office cool, it is simply meeting the minimum acceptable standard. Not recommended.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SouthBayRoots Thank You, Home Depot!!!
I highly recommend this unit! This Air Conditioning unit is easy to install and I am so glad that I purchased it from Home Depot! The price was excellent compared to what others were charging, the unit was packed well, and the directions for installation were so easy to follow. I am very pleased with this purchase and pleased with myself that I could install it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NEConnecticut Works hard but not quite enough
I bought this for my living room and kitchen area. I used to use a window unit and hoped that this size would match the window unit performance. I was disappointed in the heat wave of 90+ degrees and high humidity this unit struggled to bring the area to comfortable. It is quieter than my other portable units which are smaller and older
This one uses an intake hose and outlet hose but I don't see how that is an improvement. Also the heat function says it will not work under 45 degrees so that makes this useless in a NE winter. I would not buy this again
