Been using this unit for about a month and very pleased. OFF-ON memory is smart. If you must turn the unit OFF then back ON, all the settings will be the same as before. Very convenient. Checked water plug in back of unit weekly. Not a drop of water to be drained. Filter installation diagram is a bit confusing, but after trial and error figured it out. Filters easy to remove and clean. After removing and washing, filters will be completely dry in about 10 minutes. NOTE: Check unit amperage and your home electrical system before buying. Adding the unit to an older home on a 15 amp circuit breaker may be problematic.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by PatinFlorida Very efficient at cooling
We got ours one week ago and have not used the heater function, but it cools very effectively. We bought it for a bedroom of about 275 sf that suffers the scorching sun of West Central Florida all day. After setting it up, it cooled that room from 83 degrees F to 76 degrees F in about 20 minutes. We gave it 5 stars as it cools excellently. However, there are things about it that we feel will help others.
Some reviewers here and different sites indicated that it was loud. How loud, what my question at the time. This is by no means scientific, but relatively speaking it is no louder than most window units or a maybe a big stand up fan. The loudest it gets of course is when the compressor is running. Neither of us has lost sleep from the sound, but everyone is different.
One thing that did keep up us was the LED readout. It's pretty bright and there is no function to dim it. We had to jury rig something to cover it up.
One suggestion I would impart and wish I had known this, when the unit arrives take the package of screws provided with the unit and go purchase new ones of better quality. I don't know what it is with Chinese hardware but their metals are quite often soft and cheap and the screw heads can easily strip out if one is not super careful. You're likely better off going to the hardware store, paying a bit more and changing out what comes with the unit. Might want to buy some weather stripping for the window component while you're there.
The window component is on the lame side. It's really thin plastic and rather ill fitting in a vinyl window. We had to close the gaps with weather stripping. Also, it does not remain in the window well while you are setting it up in the window. Ours would have fallen out the the ground two stories below had it not been for the screen. Other than that, the thing is overall pretty fast and easy to set up.
We love how it cools and the unit is pretty sharp looking too. Moves around easily as well. For the dough, however, they could upgrade the 'little things', like make the window component out of better plastic and improve the design, give one some decent hardware at the get-go, and have a means to dim or cover that bright LED.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by BossLady Sleek design, but lacking the technology to back it up.
It looks good and cools nearly my entire town home if I leave it on 24/7, very impressive. Haven't had a chance to use the heater or dehumidifier yet.
Cons - hoses are hard to unclip if you do intend to use the other features. The window adapter is too short by most any window's standards, so you'll have to rig your own contraption if you need more than 18 inches (lame! who has windows that small anyway?!?). If the settings on the remote don't match the settings on the machine (because you've manually adjusted the settings) the unit will switch to whatever the last setting on the remote is, so you'll have to reset it. The timer is a pain, I wish I could set it for specific times of the day. Surprisingly, I didn't notice that there is NOT a hepa filter on this which seem kind of standard for any system.
And while I haven't had to drain it yet, I'm not sure how they expect me to with a drain mere millimeters off the ground (did I mention my unit weighs almost as much as I do and is upstairs on carpet?...will not enjoy the day I do have to drain it!)
I'd return it if I could.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by TxArmadillo Good buy -- Strongly recommended
This unit was purchased for use in an attached two-car garage located in south Texas. The garage has a fully finished interior with insulated garage doors (stryofoam), no less than R-21 in the outer wall, and R-30 in the attic space above the garage.
Prior to purchasing this unit, it was not uncommon to have the interior temperature in the garage at 95+ degrees, largely due to two east-facing garage doors. (As mentioned, these doors are insulated with sytrofoam inserts.) Now, on the hottest days, the interior temperate never exceeds 85 (which is more than tolerable in South Texas!).
This unit is attractive, appears to be energy efficient (nice SEER and kw/hr ratings), is reasonably quiet, and very easy to install or move/remove as needed.
Again, most importantly, it cools my 450 square feet garage very well.
Hope this helps you in your decision.

I was able to try out the heat function first when the unit came. It provides supplemental heat which is handy but the drain pan does have to be emptied. So far, the cooling function seems to be working well also. With the unit on cooling the water is evaporated to the outside so you don't have to worry about the drain. I think considering what space I am trying to cool the unit will be plenty adequate for the job. The only negative I have is the noise level but that is to be expected.
