Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed This unit did not cool down the room as we had expected. It's also huge & looks like a refrigerator you find in a hotel room. We will be returning it. July 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Appealing design with good function Purchase 1 1/2 months ago, so far functioning good. We have casement windows which makes it impossible to have window air conditioner. Since we live in the " mountains" where it hardly gets hot enough to warrant a central air conditioner (except this year been scorcher) this is a good alternative. It cools about 1,000 sq FT to a comfortable 70 F when temperature are in high 80-90's. August 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works As Designed Purchased a larger BTU unit than needed for the size of the room, which turns out to be a good thing. Unit provides plenty of cooling, but if your room isn't completely enclosed, it will never fully cool the room. I have a second unit in the bedroom, and it cools it off quickly. Ensure you completely seal the window where you install the hoses, as the unit will suck warm air in from the outside. Downsides to this unit is that it is somewhat loud (no louder than a window air conditioner though), and the fan doesn't shut after the compressor turns off. Have had both units for over a year and no problems. September 4, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by How do you empty the water? It was easy to put together. It started up right away. It cooled slowly. It took water out of the air but it had to be emptied every 1 hour and 15 minutes or it would stop running. I could not get up every 75 minutes to keep the machine running. I will have to return it to Home Depot. It just would not work properly. A way to correct this might be to have a stand made 48" off of the ground and attached a hose to the drain and drill a hole in the wall to let the water drain out. With the A/C sitting on the stand it might work. It would not be a portable machine at that point. It needs to have an evaporator built into the machine. October 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fullfilled all my expectations for the cooling of my office I needed the help of a contractor friend of mine to help me install the window adapter kit since my office is on the fourth floor corner of building. Also required downward facing backdraft preventing vent so nothing can crawl back into unit. Customer service hasn`t been required up to this point and the shipping was excellent. Excellent cooling capacity especially since all windows of my office face the sun directly from sunrise to sunset. The noise level is manageable. Remote control works perfectly. If cooling is your primary concern I highly recomend it. May 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Like this AC! So far no problems with this AC unit. The only thing I don't like is that my windows open left to right and when I installed the venting with the window sliding kit the panel doesn't fill the whole window the manufactures of these type AC units know the windows aren't this short so why don't they make the hardware fit the entire window! Had to use cardboard & blue painters tape to cover the rest of the opening. I have a 9000 BTU Fridgedaire and it has the same problem! October 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great option for room with vertical windows I needed an air conditioner for a room that had only vertical sliding windows where a standard window air conditioner would not fit/work. This is a great product and I only had to improvise a little with some white vinyl to finish out the fitting to the window. It cools down the room quickly and is very efficient. The only downside to this machine is the fan is a little noisy. October 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A/C in upstairs loft Upstairs looft was very hot during past heat wave. Central A/C did not work very well in our new house. Purchased the portable unit at Home Depot. Works great to cool the entire, large, upstairs loft area. A bit noisy when watching TV, but well worth it when considering how cool the room is now. Love the remote! Just point and click!
