Answer:
Absolutely not. The unit will fail due to overheating. Whytner uses down rev components that are not designed to handle the thermal environment of a wine cooler. My unit was in the open and died after 18 months. Stay away.

Answer:
It needs at least 6 inches on sides and back. My guess is it would not have the breathing room it needs to stay cool if you enclosed it.

Answer:
It calls for 6" clearances on all sides...I have it in the open 8" from back and side walls and work great.
People who have reviewed it that had it inclosed under counters reported that it would NOT hold temp. settings or would not get to set temp.
Apparently it needs space to circulate the air

I love the cooler, however I'm having a difficult time attaching the two handles. There are no instructions in your manual. I know that they screw on and the small access hole is under the
rubber gasket, but I can't find the screw head. Is it a slotted or Phillips screw head?
PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THIS HELP.

It is a "Phillip screw head". The screws should be in a small plastic bag.
