The fridge seems to be built very solidly and it cools off very well. I haven't tried the fast freeze mode, but the regular mode takes quite a while to reach temperature. Once it is there it seems to hold pretty well. According to the display it sits in a fairly wide temperature range and it may take a little dialing in to get it to where you want it to be. The compressor is pretty quiet, similar to any standard mini-fridge.
It has been running well on A/C for a couple weeks with no hiccups so far. I haven't tried running on 12V yet, but that is the eventual use case for us. All-in-all it seems to be a very good value if it holds up.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Scalicat Better than expected
I bought this hoping it would work as well as the similar models from other companies that cost twice as much and I wasn't disappointed. It has great features, is quiet, and doesn't use much energy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MassMopar So far so good
As everyone else has said, this is a nice unit. It runs very quietly and passed my break-in test.
It comes double-boxed with thick cardboard padding. Mine arrived without a single dent or scratch. Temp setting works well. My only gripe is that the latch for the lid could be better. Definitely looking forward to taking this camping this year.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rob A real portable freezer
I am using this freezer on my boat. You can buy marine freezers for at least double the price. This is just what I was looking for. I wanted the next size up that has tow separate temperature control compartments, that size won't fit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gene Whynter Portable Freezer 45Qt
This portable freezer sold by Whynter Co. was used with no problems the first year while under warranty, however shortly after the warranty expired it failed to get cold . After explaining the problem with Whynter Co. they extended my warranty and found that the 45Qt freezer I had purchased couldn't be repaired, so they provided a brand new unit with another full year warranty. This Company stands by their products and are exceptional when it comes to customer service. I would recommend this product or any other Whynter product. Thanks

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skywalker Best portable fridge/freezer I've ever owned
This item beats any thermoelectric cooler I've owned. I found this cooler to be extremely efficient. When it reaches the set temperature, the unit shuts down so there's very little power being drawn whereas, traditional thermoelectric coolers are constantly on. Second, the temperature inside is constant independent of the ambient temperature. Another feature uniquely different from thermo coolers. Third, the thermostat is very accurate. I have a separate air temperature thermometer and when I set the freezer to 0 degrees, it stays +/- 5 degrees of the set temp. There are two downside, the unit itself is very heavy; close to 47 lbs and the handles along the side are made of plastic. I'm fearful that it will break because of the weight of the cooler. It can be carried by one person but if filled with food, this unit has to be carried by two people. I had to get one of those mover straps so my wife and I were to carry this from the kitchen to the car filled with food we wouldn't injure ourselves or break the handles. I gave value overall a good because it's not cheap but compared to other compressor based portable freezer/fridges, this unit is about 40% less expensive. The best test is going to be the test of time so only time will tell how well this lasts.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chris Amazing high efficiency fridge/freezer
So far so good. When I first got the fridge I tried the Fast Freeze function, when I plugged the fridge in the fridges thermostat said the inside temp was 74 degrees. I came back roughly an hour and a half later to check on the fridge and it was at negative 3 degrees. I've been running mine on a kill-o-watt outlet sensor that tells me how much power it has consumed so far. Its been on the mains for a week and the KWH reading is 1.84 right now. Every time i check the amount of amps its pulling it always is around an amp or so. i left it plugged into my dodge that has two batteries over night and it barely pulled the voltage down. Very pleased with it so far. My only grip is about the handles being flimsy. For me this fridge is perfect for using in my enclosed trailer and in my truck on trips. When its in the back seat I can open the lid no problem. If you were to mount this in the back of an suv on a platform then you wouldn't be able to open the lid enough to get to whats inside. You would need a track system to pull it out of the back of the suv.
