Is it possible to set the unit to go on at intervals? I have read the manual but I don't think I understand what "Timer (Delayed Switch on/off) Function" means in context. Ideally instead of turning on at a certain temperature I could set it to run for a certain amount of time at intervals.
Asked by: BigDaddy
You can get plug timers to turn on and off whatever is plugged into them

Can you run the intake hose from a garage space and the exhaust hose to an attic space?

I am trying to cool an enclosed room in a garage. The room has no windows. I would like to use ambient air from the garage space for AC intake, and exhaust the AC hot air into the attic so as not to overheat the garage space. I am in southeast Texas so summers can be extremely hot and humid.
Asked by: KF5
Unless your attic is actively ventilated it's not a good idea. The AC exhaust is loaded with water and that humidity will dampen everything that's up there, including the studs, insulation and any household goods.

How long is the hose extended?

Asked by: Douglas78
The Instruction Manual recommends extending the hoses no more than 9'. However, if you are having to exhaust through an elevated window such that the hose runs have to include 90 degree bends, then you will have far less hose length to work with. The manual states that additional 4' hoses can be purchased separately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best value dual hose portable unit Got on sale at Home Depot for a great price. Portable units are more expensive and not as efficent as window units in my experience but, if you're like me and your HOA prohibits window units this is your best bet. Just using to suppliment my central ac system. This way i can keep the bedroom at a cool 65 at night without having to cool the entire house to that temp. Had a portable, single hose unit that I tried to cool my bedroom with and all it did was pull hot air from the rest of the house into the room - not efficient at all. If you get a portable unit, spend the extra and get a dual hose unit. I've had this unit for a few weeks and so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Solution Ever I always used window air conditioners but didn't want to block the one window I have in my room all the time. This was easy to set up and cools the room great. I have been taking the exhaust hose out when I want to open the window on cooler days. I read a lot about these and this brand seems to be one of the best for these air conditioners.

At some point it stopped cooling, started rattling loudly, was violently shaking & shut it off. When disconnecting hoses we found plastic bits in the exhaust hose. Home Depot fully refunded me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slim and effective This looks much nicer than in the pictures. Cool remote control that doubles as the onboard control panel. Our son got this for us as our apt was tight enough as it is and we did not want an ugly window unit sticking out. Very slim in design it does nicely for apt living. Only wish the vents could be adjusted. I'm surprised they squeezed a dual hose into such a compact unit. Did not have to drain the unit even after 2 months of use. Good cooling power that was able to cool a 22 x 17 bedroom with ease. I'm thinking about getting another for the living room which is larger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I purchased this item This is exactly what I wanted. Easy to install using the window kit provided. Instructions about connecting hoses to window kit could have been explained better or a photo of what the finished product looks like would have been more helpful. Purchased to cool off 250 sq ft living room and this certainly does that. Noise level is higher than expected, so I easily wheeled it to the room adjacent to the living room and it has been working great - and getting lots of use in the warm New England weather!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken Fan This unit worked very well for about a year. I wanted a good dual hose unit and this fit the bill. Then the poorly engineered plastic fan that exhausts the hot air out blew to pieces and the pieces wedged so that the fan motor couldn't turn. That burned out the motor. Since it was out of warranty, I ordered the repair parts and repaired it. Again, after about a year, the fan blew apart, wedged and burned out the motor.I believe that the heat destroys the integrity of the plastic in the fan and the life span is about a year, just long enough for the warranty to run out.The three year warranty on the compressor is worthless since it will break down before it's life reaches it's end. I'll be shopping for a new and better made unit this time, rather than making repairs on a unit that requires total disassembly to get to the fan.
