With this never ending california summer heat and older 1950's built homes with no insulation. This AC has kept us sane. Plus i didnt really see a majior jump in my electric bill which was a relief because we have it on almost the whole day and night. Works well for small spaces but wont cool down a entire house. We just move it from to room.

Worked well for 4 months and then quit cooling. Dealing with warranty is difficult so far.

I did some research prior to purchasing a portable a/c unit. There are many choices out there; go with this brand. Also, spend the extra few bucks and be to get one with the dual hose for efficiency. This product performs as anticipated. The unit is easy to unpack and sets up in minutes. The window adapter kit included for the hose intake/outlet is sufficient, but is not compatible with all window sizes. I had to cut one of the plastic panels to fit. Regardless, the 90+ degrees days we've had lately provided a good test with successful results. Recommended.

This is the best! The dual hose portable ac is the ONLY way to go for you must have an intake & exhaust hose if you hope to get any coolness. I need the portable because of slider windows, security bars & my nosey cats.
It has an excellent filter picks
the finest dust, any pet hair etc.. This Whynter portable ac is excellent quality. I have used several brands of portable ac's, this Whynter is the best! Do not waste your time/$ trying the single hose, they should not even be sold as are worthless!
The only thing I would like is open access to the fins, plus a long handled fin cleaner to clean off any pet hair, gunk-the only fin tools are sold are short.
Also I use Nassau brand hvac silver multi purpose foil tape around the window installation including hoses as it seals/secures it. I purchased both the Whynter portable ac plus the foil tape at Home Depotthat is the best tape, multi uses. I'm very happy with my Whynter 11,000 portable ac. I installed it myself in 15 minutes.

We experienced record temperatures over 115F for three days.
The hoses were too short for my windows height. I had to put the unit on a small stand. I am very happy with its cooling performance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cooler huge but effective
All of these are big and in the way. No way around it if you can't have a window-mount or wall-mount air conditioner. This one works very well, and it's not messy. Dual hoses is a must if you want the best of these two qualities. Thanks to the huge intake and outtake hoses, it looks like Robbie the Robot (from "Lost in Space") in my bedroom, but at least I can sleep during the heat waves.

The air conditioner as received was easy to assemble with its air ducts and works as expected. The remote control is simple to operate. The overall design is quite attractive.
The window slide bars installation kit for the two air ducts was not in accordance with the product specification from the manufacturer which stated that the kit has a maximum installed length of 48". When the 3 parts of the kit were slid together so that the screws locked the parts in place, the assembled length was less than 46". Since the opening in my window is 48", this meant that I had a 2" gap to fill. I contacted the manufacturer about this and they replied that I could purchase another kit from their authorized retailer and could use the additional parts to make up the required length.

Quality product, easy to set up, cools well, energy efficient and quiet enough you can sleep with it on. However, when operating it in high humidity conditions there is too much condensation for it evaporate all of the water and a drain hose will be required. Since I do not have a floor drain available I use a 1 1/4 inch ID plastic hose on the upper drain port and let it drain into a bucket. The cool room is worth the one minute a day it takes to empty the bucket.
