Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Barb Paid over $400 for this heater; installed by local gas company; won't stay lit, now I have to pay the gas company to come back out and try to fix it.
Won't work; going to cost me money - again - to have the technician come back out and trouble shoot why the pilot light goes off and the heater goes off every time we start it. Undependable. Make by Williams of California - they won't answer the phone. I think I should be reimbursed for the cost of installation and the cost of the re-visit by the technician to repair this heater.

Took less then 30 mins to hook up. however it took over an hour to figure out where the propane was leaking after ignition.. there was 3 separate flames under the valve.. EVERY FITTING INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY WAS LEAKING... not happy with QUALITY CHECKS

could not find a heater any where this year. My mother in law needed one to heat her house. Hers gave out. The only one I could find in the country was on line with Home depot. Very easy to operate works great, and easy for her.

I purchased this heater to heat my 900 square foot basement so that my wife could have a warm area to work at her crafts bench during the winter. Upon removing this heater from its shipping box I found the tempered glass loose due to the bracket that's supposed to hold it in place had come disconnected from the main heater frame during shipping. I repaired this rather easily and proceeded to install it following the directions that came with it.
It seemed to run fine for a few hours and then started to backfire, having delayed ignitions and making a hissing sound during re-ignition. I verified the propane pressure at my outdoor tank to be 11.25 inches of water which is adequate for this unit according to the owners manual and checked the burner orifice for blockage. There was none.
I called Williams Customer Service and was told by their rep he was not familiar with this model since it's a very low seller. I ended up having a tech from my propane company come out to re-verify the propane pressure and inspect the heater to see if I had done something wrong.
He tried to light the unit and experienced the same issues I had experienced. He verified the propane pressure, checked several items on the heater itself and determined the cause of my issues was the pilot assembly was too far away from the burner assembly. It may have gotten moved during shipment. He bent the pilot attachment bracket to position the pilot closer to the burner assembly and the unit now runs excellent, re-ignites easily with no issues, and quickly warms the basement to 70 degrees on only the "2" setting on the thermostat. The service call cost me an extra $144 dollars. I was not happy about that especially since this heater cost $380 and I purchased it because it was made in the USA and not China.
