Replacement of current unit.

I currently have what seems to be a WESCO 15CRT. The return intake is drawn from the top. The heat discharges through the base. Will this unit work as a replacement? It also is 240v 60 cycle single phase motor, 15KW 2 wire. It is a 3 bedroom Mobile home and is Approximately 1400 sq ft. If not what would you recommend for a unit to replace mine? Regards RT .

How difficult is it to install an electric furnace yourself? What is the cost of paying someone to install one?

Asked by: Sharon
Hello Sharon, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. Furnace installation is not normally a DIY project. Please peruse the installation instructions to get an idea of the kinds of work involved. In addition, this project will require a building permit and inspection. Note the comment in the overview section: “Equipment should be sized, selected and installed by a qualified professional to ensure proper installation, safe operation, adherence to federal, state and local codes and for valid warranty; see installation guide for more details.” The labor and additional parts cost to install a furnace will vary considerably based on your particular home, and what is being replaced. I hope this helps, Chris. .

How big of electric furnace do I need for 3000 sq ft home?

I live on a ranch 3850' elevation North Central Washington state, right on the Canadian border. Have always heated with 100% wood heat but want an electric furnace also?
Asked by: Al
Knowing the sq. ft. is a good start. For this large of an application, it would be best to have 2 systems to make sure you have even comfort. We would need to know more about the home to help you. Plus, duct work and your current electric service needs to be considered. Please give us a call at 800-879-0123 so we can assist you.
