Answer:
Yes, one end of the "pipe" has been squeezed or "swedged" to reduce the diameter thus increasing the strength of the pipe in this area and allowing multiple lengths to be joined if necessary.

Answer:
One end of a round pole is sweged; meaning...one end of the pole is taper, in order to add an extension, round end of another pole, as in the end of an antenna.

Answer:
One end is smaller in diamer - it allows you to stack these, so can go higher in 5' intervals! Also, my cheap $30 HD antenna from e-bay needed the "swedged" end to fit - ie, it wouldn't fit on the other end of the mast! Sorry - I didn't measure the diameter of each end - hope that helps!

Answer:
Yes, this mast can be used as the base mount for the rotor or used mounted in the rotor itself to provide a mount for the antenna. If you need more height several of these masts can be put together for additional length on the bast mount.

I have the Antenna Direct model and realized that I need a longer pipe. So, I'm wondering if it will fit this one or do I need to buy another one and if so, was wondering if the Winegard one is the one I need to get??

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gotthe signal now. Worked like a charm.. will probably extend it higher. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product Well made antenna support. Mounted with two very large TV antennas attached, no problems at all............. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used ship to store, no shipping not much to be said about a 5 foot steel pipe. it raised my antenna 5 more feet into the sky which provided the antenna to receive more station when being higher. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stood up to a bad storm When I decided to cut the cord on cable, I had to find a new TV source. I decided to just watch broadcast TV. I live in an area facing a fair sized hill. All the local stations transmit from the other side, so, the hill blocks reception. I had to raise an antenna above the roof. I ordered this antenna mast from Home Depot. I needed 4 sections. They slid together quite easily and fit securely. I doubt I will ever get them to come apart should I ever need to disassemble them. The material is pretty strong. We just had a major storm with some really strong winds, 70 mph or so. My antenna still stands tall on a nice straight pole. Highly satisfied. July 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy duty, but swedged end didn't quite fit. Had to hammer swedged end to fit into another mast. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holds the antenna up! It holds up the antenna as intended. I needed two to get the job done for this installation. May 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Deal - helped! I bought this to help improve HD - Digital reception - and it worked! I'd bought a $30 Digital HD antennae from e-bay @ a year ago, and although we live @ 50 miles away from most stations, we were able to get 20+ channels, although we regularly were having to press a button to turn the antenna for certain channels to come in (which was a pain, because the button just randomly turned the antenna - you never knew where it was pointing, it was just hit or miss!) - so I thought if I got it higher, it might help reduce that... Well, not only did the extra 5 feet (now 10 ft off the roof) help reduce turning - it all but eliminated it! PLUS, we get almost twice the number of channels!!! December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality purchase. Delivered quickly. Assembled easily. A solid product for the designated use. February 10, 2016
