Customer Questions & Answers

What is the hole size?

How big does the pre-drilling hole need to be? I'm looking for something that can hide behind a somewhat thin bracket.
Asked by: LizG
The drill hole needs to be 3/4".

What drywall thickness will this work for?

Asked by: Rc
You can use this on either 1/2 in or 5/8 in drywall. The length of the included bolt allows it to be used for thicker walls, and it of course works great on thinner walls. The thickest drywall I have successfully used these on was 3/4in in thickness.

Will these work on house siding ?

I would like to know if these would work on siding where there is no wood behind it as I want to use them for a flag pole holder base.
Asked by: scot
It depends on the thickness of your wall siding as that is the biggest limiting factor. If your siding and wall is thicker than 1", I don't believe you'd be able to use these effectively. A good alternative if your wall siding is thicker than 1" would be toggle bolts. These can be found next to drywall anchors in the store usually and have a metal butterfly nut attached to a bolt that can be anywhere from 2" to 4" in length and have an anchoring strength of typically 100lbs.

Will this work on hollow cement blocks?

I want to hang a punching heavy bag weighing 120 lbs. to a block concrete wall. I already have the frame where the bag is going to hang and I was wondering if these fasteners could be used for this purpose. I am attaching a picture of the steel frame and the wall where I will be hanging the heavy bag.
