Answer:
I run mine 24/7 with no issues. I sometimes run it in Turbo mode, but mostly in the lowest speed, especially when I'm working near it. No problems. If you run it intermittently, the filters should require less frequent replacement or cleaning.

Answer:
Yes, it can be turned on all the time. I only turn mine on if I smell an odd odor. I use it about three times a week and only run it till the odor is gone, approximately 30 minutes. As with most mechanical units, the less you use it the longer it will last. This air cleaner works very well.

Answer:
I run mine 24/7 because my wife has asthma and I have allergies to grass, weed, and tree pollen. I recall reading (perhaps in the user manual) it is recommended to turn the unit off if no one will be home, so each time we go out we shut it down.

Answer:
I was also curious about this because the Plasmawave technology was new to me. I have a proprietary ozone detector I built for a project for my work. It did not detect any substantial amounts of ozone as compared with "normal ambient" air. I live in Los Angeles, so ozone levels are slightly higher than less congested areas. That said, I don't think this unit produces any significant amounts of ozone.

These are measured about 1ft from the front of the air cleaner.

The lowest speed is very quiet, except there's a low level popping crackling noise which is caused by the Plasma wave device. It's just barely audible in the room, but if your within 2-3 feet you can hear it. I sit about this distance from it and

Don't know the db. but you can't hear it on low (#1). #2 is drowned out by the tv. It's a pleasant background noise that you have to listen for. #3 louder but very effective at clearing out odors quickly. Turbo is as loud as other fans at their top setting. Turbo is great for a quick clean of the air at parties.

According to the manufacturer's instructions you change the carbon filters every 3 months. ie discard and replace. The HEPA filter can be washed every 6 months, and this can be done 6 times, for a total life of 3 years. This really saves money, as other air cleaners have you discard and replace the HEPA filters every 6 months to a year.
The replacements filters can be found at www.sylvane.com, size 21.

My unit shipped with a washable HEPA and extra carbon filters, these would be good for about a year.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT PRODUCT EASY TO SET UP, QUIET IN AUTO MODE, AIR QUALITY SO MUCH BETTER. I LEAVE ON AUTOMATIC IN MY DAUGHTERS ROOM. IF SOMEONE IN BATHROOM DOWN THE HALL SPRAYS HAIRSPRAY OR FRESHNER OR ANYTHING OR SOMEONE PASSES GAS THIS UNIT CLICKS ON A TURBO MODE AND CLEARS THE AIR. BOUGHT TWO OF THESE AND MY SISTER HAS NOW PURCHASED ONE. OUTSTANDING PRODUCT SO FAR May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazingly efficient As much as I wanted to believe that a washable HEPA filter air filtering machine existed (at a reasonable price no less), I have been thrilled with the consistent performance of this one! Super quiet, detects impurities and removes them automatically, keeps everyday dust from settling on furniture by taking it from the air. It's tough on odors, though I can't honestly say it's completely eliminated our tough one (cigarette). At this price, I will invest in another unit for another room that likes to capture and hold air, rather than circulate. i highly recommend this air machine, especially if it's not your first machine. You will be very impressed! January 19, 2016
