Answer:
The main hole is a 3/4" hole. I suggest you use a 1/4" drill bit as a pilot hole followed by the 3/4" drill bit.
Measure from the door carefully as you only get one chance.
The drill bit required for the plate and holder is 1/8".

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for home security. Works great and was easy to install. Only took 10 minutes to install. August 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value but Quality Issues. They arrived right on time (we bought 3). The company in my opinion has Quality control issues. First, the glue was dried up. They opened up the package and put new glue in 2 of the 3. In one package the 4 each #8 X 1" screws were missing. Minor (but irritating) issues. Not sure if it was originally like this or happened during the glue replacement, but the bright brass finish was scuffed up. We decided to paint them to match the doors. Ours are set in a concrete floor. Take your time and drill accurately. You only get one shot. That being said, they are very sturdy and well worth the price. They give a great sense of security when sleeping. I would recommend this product to friends and family. April 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good deterent easy to install, works like a charm,,,,keeps out all the bad guys April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brass door club The company sent me a returned item as I can clearly see the marks on the club from previous user, one of the clubs has even lost the shine in patches. If u r installing it on a carpet be careful when you drill the hole as it could tear up your carpet. You will need to use a chisel first to cut out the piece of carpet and then you can drill a hole into the floor board. I dont know if you get a special bit to drill into carpet. The door clubs slid off the holders on the door easily. Functionally this product seems to serve the purpose and has its own advantages with the disadvantages mentioned above. It sits flush on the floor and there is no plate protruding as in the nightlock and is perfect for double doors. February 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Safe Home installing the club was well explained. Home security feeling was increased. June 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy Door Security Installation took about 45 minutes to install three...one in hardwood (about 5 minutes) and two in cement (had to use a special bit with hammer drill) . I think these will increase security in my home immensely...especially my two doors in the basement...Would definitely recommend purchasing this product... February 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this thing. Very easy to install. Just drill a hole in the floor and screwed it on. Excellent for doors that are rarely used or when you go to sleep at night. Safer in an emergency situation then using a double cylinder deadbolt and probably more secure b/c even if the lock was picked the door can't be opened or kicked in. A Life saver and a jamb saver =) December 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Like a Bank Vault This door club feels very solid like a bank vault. It's better than those screw-in chain type. It gives those prop 65 lead warning which I don't understand why. I simply wrap the whole brass with white electrical tape just to have peace of mind! December 17, 2014
