I have an IPE deck, three years old and it looked horrible, so I pressure washed it and it looked like new. I wanted to put something on that would last longer this time. I thought I was buying a clear "natural" protective coating, not a stain when I bought this EHT. I applied a small amount of it, then rubbed it too much and the pigment rolled up in little balls. I was also shocked that it was water based and not oil based. But I did more research and found that a finish without pigment wouldn't hold up, and the two oil finishes I used, including Teak Oil, barely lasted as long as it took to put them on. I put EHT on as evenly as I could and without too many brush strokes. When it dried, I was shocked. it looked absolutely AWESOME. It's been less than two weeks now so I can't say how it will hold up, but the water beads up and I have high expectations that it will last MUCH longer than the oils.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Outhousedude Awesome deck stain
great deck stain. Easy to work with and holds up well. A month after the first coat it still looks wet at times and it beads water up nicely. Has a red tint to it so it looks like redwood on my heat treated lumber I used for my deck. Makes the pine planter boxes look very rustic. Will use again in 3 to 5 years when it needs to be done again.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JRGIV This product was easy to apply and beads very well when wet.
The product looks fantastic and was easy to apply. Be sure to follow the directions and finish one board at a time, lengthwise. The overall price was fair as well. I can't wait to see how it fairs this summer. I applied it in the Spring of 2013.
