Customer Questions & Answers

Is the finished surface paintable?

Asked by: Questions
Happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Wolman Woodlife Classic Clear Wood Preservative is a paintable and stainable formula that will extend topcoat service life by inhibiting peeling and blistering. Allow a minimum of 24 hours after application before over-coating with primer, paint or stain.

How long does this last? or rather how often should I expect to reapply?

How long does this last? or rather how often should I expect to reapply?
Asked by: DawnS
Great question, Dawn! The lifespan of our Classic Clear Above Ground Wood Preservative will depend on the amount of Sun exposure, foot traffic, and other abrasive contact with the surface. We expect this preservative to last on most wood surfaces for 2-3 years, however, surfaces that are shaded or not exposed to foot traffic may last much longer. You can also extend the lifespan of the preservative by topcoating with a paint or stain.
