Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WoodRx Stain Sealer Evaluation The gallon container that the WoodRx came in sealed differently than most gallon paint cans and the lid is a different material than most paint cans. Make sure you shake well before opening to get all the stain color pigment mixed thoroughly. Once I got to the end of the gallon there was a dark substance on the bottom of the can which had settled over the time I was using the product which was much darker than the mixed sealer stain. Need a cautionary note: Shake or Mix constantly. The lid was made from a plastic material and was sealed by three metal clips that needed to be pried off to remove the lid. After use, then all you can do is replace the plastic lid onto the top of the can, didn't appear to me that you were making a leak tight seal with the lid, especially if you turned the can upside down, which I did not. For the product, I applied it with a brush for tight spots and spaces where the perimeter vertical spindles attached underneath the top and bottom of the railing. Used different sized rollers to apply to the rest of the decking. The tawny color was exactly what I was looking for, kind of a caramel color. It applied easily to the board surface of the deck . The only trouble I had was that the consistency of the product was very thin and would run on vertical surfaces if you applied to much at once, but you could still move the excess out to new uncovered areas. Two coats were necessary for the proper coverage on my new deck, which I thought was good coverage. I liked the finished look of my deck, but when I first walked on the deck it was slick to the touch and somewhat slick to walk on. At this time (June 1016) it is hard to determine the overall quality and value of this product. So: 'Time Will Tell' on how well the product stands up to Kansas four seasons of weather types.
